Hell yeah, the AoW:SM combat system was decent...it's a shame that Elemental's combat system will be continous turn based, instead of real turn based, but maybe it will work very well. We shall see..
FYI: Real time is nothing more than a simultaneous turn system with auto turn ends and really small turns.
The Op was viewed when logged into Wincustomize. As it is about customisation, I took it to be aimed at the WC forums.
Yet it isn't shown purely on the WC forums. This is the personal computing forum in 'off topic', nothing more or less.
As Brad himself has pointed out, competition is a good thing :D Personally, I'm wishing the game good luck!
I believe they are central/north USA. However the email said it will be aviable for download at 10 am PST which means 1 pm EST.
Yeah, I just reread it. I guess the halleluja chorus is a good idea afterall!
Unofficially, they expect to have it by Mass Effect 2.
Are they going to carry ME2?!!?!?!?!?!!!??!??!?!?! Edit: And Dragon's Age Origins says: yes, preload please!
I got an e-mail from SD telling me they are throwing the switch at 10 tomorrow morning. I was going to sing a 'hallelujah' chorus about it, since my 9:30-10:45 class had been canceled, but then I remebered they're an east coast company. Which means 7 in the morning my time. Bleh!
I hope it's good! And I hope it's based off 3! :D I loved apocalypse!
Congrats you lucky SOBs! About 7 months or so before I can try and join you in getting employed by SD... my dream employer :D (Even higher up than blizzard! :D )
Actually I cant remember where I read it but scientists associated with NASA is looking into WarpDrives inspired by Star Trek because the idea of manipulating space is very plausible and while the government doesnt put enough money into NASA if NASA had the funds. I bet we'd be looking at WarpDrive in the next 30-50 years.
Actually, we wouldn't. The power requirements to get a practical drive using that technique are, literally, impossible. I don't remember
To satisfy my curiousity, do you have a citation for the source code being lost?
Sorry, no... it's over in the steam forums somewhere.
ooohhh that would be cool and awesome, be even better if they could update them
They can't; the source code has been lost.
Correct me if I'm wrong but, don't planets move as well?
Scale matters. For everyday purposes, planets don't move enough for the 'drift' to be noticeable on an interstellar level, but over the course of thousands of years the entire system can move enough to be a problem. At least, that's the premise the show (appears) to be using. Apparently there is a mild error-correcting system built in to handle smaller errors (perhaps the gate on t
I thought you could build additional cities for free if the ground was already infused with Life Essence. But then, it's not exactly clear how Life areas expand
Over time, it grows outwards from your cities...
That's just... wow!
I just wish I could run Master of Orion II these days... alas, Windows Vista broke it bad, and windows 7 finished the process. I can't play, at all, these days :( I'm going to have to purchase a new CD that has the DOS version if I want to play, ./sigh.
Shh Fidel! Just wait, and I'm sure someone, somewhere, will fix it!
Really? I love MMOII but I really can't get into SOTS, the game always seems to start with this large scale enemy invasion of all planets! Before I can even get acquainted with my planet and my stuff I already have to face some major crisis it feels like a turn-based... RTS (meaning dumb as a RTS and feeling as fake as a RTS, but I may be wrong)... What am I missing? Anyone who know that game has an answer?
It's MP focused, so you 'jump into' being able
I must admit it was a pretty high quality rant
QFT; most rants make my blood boil because of the rantee, not what is being ranted over. This one... if I hadn't been aware of SD support being overworked, I would have been angry over their response.
AFAIK the system is such that we cannot re-run an order once it has been processed and failed; orders must be initiated by the customer and can only be charged (or attempted) once (for secur
It's also available for students via the MSDNAA.
Assuming their school isn't being completely and utterly idiotic about passing the MSDNAA info out... (Still haven't gotten mine for this semester)
Now why I was being charged for a game that doesn't come out till next year, I can't figure...
Because one of the perks of pre-ordering is access to the beta; and thus you are charged before being given access to the beta. SOP for SD. As for the screwup with support... I will agree, that sounds wrong. There may be a problem with their system with doing what you wanted to do (I'll believe that!) but I can't believe they don't hav
MoM had some bugs, but I just don't remember them being that debilitating.
Build a stack of 9 hightly enchanted halberdiers, attack a tower, win the battle, and then vanish into nothing because the enemy somehow had a second stack there. That is debilitating!
Putting this in the beta forum was a mistake. Buried too quickly.
And in the case of L4D if you did get your hands on a copy to play you wouldn't find any Aus servers to play it on.
Host your own.
I have to wonder if that really was a copy of the original engine of elemental, or a mockup of the failed MOM remake...
