When implementing such a system (which in itself sounds pretty nifty by the way) you should be careful to change the usual system of production queues. You have to make sure the item on top can't block everything just because one resource is missing. So production should be parallel and not sequential (with the possibility to emphasize perhaps) although then you have to avoid the possibility of a production item on lower priority "stealing" a limited but needed resource from the higher

Um... why on earth would they make this game using flash? That's something you'd do for a browser based game, not a real game.
It's the copy protection. You will likely need to close or uninstall any virtual drive or cd burning software on your machine.
And from experiance, I can tell you that may work -- or it may not. KOTOR's version of suckRom is especially anal sometimes -- you may need to try and run it 3-4 times in a row before it'll realize its safe to run.
OK, somebody isn't making any sense here. He suggested that a player could create an item (like the one ring) that would allow them to 'come back from death', but that that ring would cause whoever held it to go insane and do nasty things to their friends. THat makes sense for an evil object, but what about the good version?
Probably not -- things do slip -- but it's the right time of year.
... continue having high school last eight years? O.o
Hah, you mean you want the pre-alpha, as always, Ron!
Shush!
Down with EA and the Digital Revocation (of Rights) Movement!
./snicker!
Some things in warfare remain constant. A spearman is a guy with a pointy stick that pokes holes into his enemy until that enemy is dead. This basic plan of attack never changes so long as the spear is his weapon of choice. However the numbers in which his kind is deployed and the quality and design of his equipment greatly affect how the spearman performs on the battlefield.
I'd have to majory disagree. Same equipment for Joe the spearman (and his

Perhaps that idea might make sense for the 'evil' version of The One Ring, but what about a good guys version? (Or a nuetral guy's version)
* It has also been posted about on dozens of gamer forums that I know of and many blogs to boot! It seems the word is out and gaining lots of momentum within the gaming community and beyond.
This... is... STARDOCK! What did you expect, no one to notice one of the best developers / publishers ever making a major announcement?
CO-OP campaigns? Now that is insanse -- and brilliant!
Maybe the terrain looks a bit sparse, assassin, but at least you won't need 10 years of gameplay experiance to recognize "ooh, that plains tile has something 'extra' on it! Oh, that's just hills tile? I thought that texture meant it had some kind of special..." (Currently driving me nuts in Civ4, yeah)
The problem with that is it renders *any* form of tech trading impossible, which most people will find as a surprise. The alternatives (tech swapping accellerating your own research of 'related' projects, maybe) will probably be difficult to learn / hard to code. But oh-so-nice if they could pull it off.
Since there are no version options available, I'm going to assuem one purchase covers both versions. So either it decides which one to install at install, or it decides which one to run at run-time.

That actually makes a certain degree of sense -- a 'final strike' shows up on in a lot of different magic schemes as (basically): I'm going to die -- fine, I'm taking ou with me!
We know that it exists. We hope for head to head games over impulse. We may face the 'spore-like' metaverse they've come up with for this game.
From what I understand, the tactical battle will be based around real time, with orders given with the game paused -- I'm hoping for a "turn-based real-time resolution" -- you give the orders for a turn, then they're executed in real time.
Unicatsins, there *are* games that can make use of 64 bit -- one of them being the upcoming Elemental: War of Magic. I'm going to upgrade my desktop to 64 bit JUST for the larger maps made possible :D

That's excellent news, I must've missed that. I thought there'd be only 2(or three?) races and that's that. Good thing I was wrong then.
Actually, I think one of the devs had to make a special post in the jou
Possibly, or possibly he missed something :D
Cool! Dang I wish I'd known that was there earlier. (Oh, and I'm not so sure its based on cookies... or if it is, its only so-so useful for me becasue I have more than one computer I browse on)
Also, an idea springs to my mind, one of specific troops. Now, as far as I know the game won't really have too much "in-house-content"(especially concerning the empires in the game) but rather but is rather leaning toward the modding of the game, so perhaps this idea won't work too well.
Given that we have two races each broken down into six seperate civilizations (for a total of twelve), I don't know where you're getting you're info :D
