Perhaps when you click on an "add-on" structure icon in the build list, the "main" structure already built highlights, or changes color?
Yes that could work. Then again it also depends on whether or not if the add-on structure is always an add on structure, or if it is something in its own right. For example, someone suggested that placing a house near a garden should increase food production. Perhaps on
Concerning Sins.. In Sins I never let my buildings be placed automatically because placement matters in Sins. You can bundle up some structures then surround them with defenses and repair bays. In Elemental there are no turrets or repair bays so tactical placement is unimportant. Something I would like to see from Sins are the clean and functional research trees.
Wouldn't that mean

For those who didn't play Sins of a Solar Empire, planets under your control operated very similar to how cities work in Elemental. They allowed you to build structures, to build units, and to generate income and resources. Also, just like Elemental, you could manually place all your structures. However, unlike Elemental, it had two features which currently Elemental doesn't have: Auto-placement, and a display which showed how many of each building you have constructed

You have to have a command post in a city, then go to the city with the command post and click the "training" tab. Caravan should be listed after clicking the Train Unit icon.

The problem right now is most of the stats don't matter, so its skewing the results. Perks + Feats are going to come into effect via history and talents I believe. Like Organized gives the same movement speed to the army as the Sov leading it(except it doesn't work atm.)
Stats do matter. Constitution increases HP, Strength Increases Att

Ah, I see what you mean. The only thing that could be said, perhaps, is that the given unit wasn't "trained" to use the particularly piece of equipment. Champions and Sovereigns are exempt from this because they're badass.
I suppose one thing that makes it different from civ is that you dont always want your towns to be building anything, as building has an initial cost. I think id still like an option to cycle through all my towns that arent building somthing though, just so i can check. Maybe have some way of putting a town 'to sleep' if you arnt going to build there for a while, so it doesnt pop up on the idle list.
Abso
At no point during that should you worry that you're not "doing it right" if the turns aren't all being 110% maximized. Sometimes I slip too, (send out a scout and forget that I've only told him to go so far for a couple turns), but in the long run these things make little difference.
It's not such a matter of worrying about "doing it right" as me wanting to be making the most of my turns. You're right, it's not 10
Another thought - why can't we use all those spears & swords to equip our military units? Maybe once we have an Armory researched & built, we can drop looted equipment in, to reduce the cost of the next unit trained.
I thought you could design units which used anything available in the item shops? Or do you mean changing the equipment load out of old units?

Will all cities of a given Kingdom/Empire have the same wares in their item shops? I remember there being dev journals on how the developers wanted cities to be highly differentiable and unique, it seems to me that some cities having special inventory items could aid this perception. I'm not sure what could make one city have different items available; maybe swords forged near a city that has a fire node will occasionally impart added fire damage upon the blades? This effe
As to there being an issue with needing to build lots of gardens, having not experienced it, frankly I think you get what you deserve, if you build a city where there is no food, then what are you expecting? My unfounded guess would be that many people are still just building cities in where ever there starting location happens to be, instead of going looking for a good location
I kind of agree, I always seem to be movi

I would also be a fan of a feat/perk/talent system upon level up as opposed to increasing stats by a few decimal points. At the moment leveling up feels pretty lackluster, and not very rewarding.

I'm not sure if I feel it's "complicated" but it is tedious. Busy work. Often times I don't feel like there is any point for me to manually place the buildings. Sins of Solar Empire, for example, had an "auto-place" toggle for structures that might be useful for people like me who don't want to play SimCity. The tedium becomes painful when there are more than two or three cities to deal with. Worst of all is when you conquer computer owned cities and you have to

Would be nice to have item categories too, like "armor" or "weapons." Also the ability to see the basic stats (how much attack or defense an item adds) in the list without actually having to click on the items.

Yes I have to admit, the game could better inform the player whether there are units to be moved, or if a city isn't producing. Perhaps a "next idle unit/city" button? I am aware that the city/unit display in the upper left indicates whether or not units can be moved, or if a city is doing anything, but it doesn't seem pronounced enough, because I'm always forgetting about it.

After you send it to another city it will automatically go in round trips between the city you
There was an update, but I wouldn't call it 1Z5. The version number is still 0.32 so basically it's 1Z4. We don't know that what was updated at all....
Plus if we were counting every patch this would technically be 1Z6, because there was a minor patch between Z1 and Z2 (or was it Z2 and Z3?) that they released over some weekend. At least that minor patch was mentioned in the dev journals too.

Yeah I thought about changing my order from Gamestop to Amazon, but I noticed Amazon said it may take up to 5 business days, instead of 1, to get the key delivered. Wasn't sure if it would really take longer or not, but I didn't want to take the chance. Can't really play much anyway at the moment due to server side down time.

40 Replies 79,609 Views

Okay, well I did finally get my key, but it took longer than 24 hours for some reason. Or did it? My inbox claims it came early yesterday, but the email didn't pop up until this afternoon. In any event, I am pretty sure Gamestop still has the beta keys. So if anyone wants to play an easy opponent I should have the game installed shortly.

They may have ran out. I did decide to go ahead and pre-order about an hour after I posted in this thread yesterday (around 9 PM EST) and now it's nearly the same time the following day and still nothing. That will teach me to hesitate!
