There's a school of thought that it's better to have fewer but bigger updates to software. I tend to be in that school of thought. But as a developer, we really enjoy sharing what we do with our customers as quickly as humanly possible. For example, in v1.02, if you're using it right now, you hopefully noticed that we were able to vastly improve the per turn times over v1.01 and earlier. We thought that a big deal (we came up with a different algo

Gamespot is becoming another one of those biased for kids only nobody reads type of review sites. Very immature people over there anymore. On the other hand Metacritic did get their 4th REAL professional review in and FE ends up a

We've sent out over 100 review copies of FE so far. Our non-games are getting lots of coverage (we're in USA Today -- today in fact) but for some reason we're having a
I don't think 4 reviews makes a very useful measurement yet (good or bad). Need at least a dozen.

(keeping in mind of course that any refinement for the 32-bit users is only that much more efficiency for the 64-bit users, stretching how far they are able to go) As mentioned in the 1.01 performance thread, 1.01 seems to demand more memory up front than it's 1.0 predecessor. If this could be retweaked, I would be GREATLY appriciative. If it can't be fixed, please

It should be noticeably better in tactical battles. I almost have it using its personal items better (i.e. Salted Pork) but i had to take it out because they may be making a game play change to that.
There is still some low hanging fruit the AI hasn't made good use of that I'mworking on. For example, it's still pretty rotten about using strategic spells and it's rotten at late game researching that's going to just require me to do a bit of hard coding to make it better at FE specifically. In tactical, the AI is still poor about using items it finds. Bottom line, there's a lot of area to make it better. It'll just require making the
1.02 is currently due this week. I already got some evil AI stuff in and a pretty huge performance boost at the end of turns. I rewrote the way units are found on tiles that should have a big impact late game.
This does leave me wondering though,if the map pack IS the expansion, which seems odd....OR...if they are separate BUT the map pack is included in the expansion ...which makes sense in a "way to sell it to those who dont get it as part of the wom deal ",while giving it to those who do qualify under the wom deal......or some other option....
DLC isn't the expansion. Broadly speaking: DLC
Quoting Frogboy, reply 91 As for MP, we've had a lot of internal discussions on this. Nothing has been decided. It won't be in the expansion though. IF we have it, it'll be in a future update. Just comes down to available development resources and deciding whether tactical battles would have to be supported to deliver the experience we would require. Even if that means the idea of MP gets scr

It still is classified as "Large" as far as the game is considered but I'd guess it's 3X as large as large. Someone might be able to do a rough measurement to get the exact difference.

When E:wom was deemed a failure, you said early adopters would be getting two expansions for free. Fallen enchantress and the next expansion. Are you saying we get the expansion to FE as well, or are you saying that the expansion to FE is the second game we

I've stickied this. Lots of places linking to it.
When you say this map is gigantic, how big are we talking? Also, are larger sizes for randomly generated maps a thing that can happen?
I'm not sure how big it is exactly. But it's bigger than any map I've ever seen in WOM or FE. If you don't have a 64-bit system, it might be tricky. I've been trying to find ways to shave down texture sizes and other tricks this weekend for 32-bit use
Will we be able to use ships on this map? The map looks like naval transport would be rather useful (unless you fight your way through the northern land bridge or use Tactics of Elemental: WoM, i.e. passing the ocean by raising land (something I rather dislike, i have to say))
Most of the maps will have ships on them.
I'm a desperately lonely guy. I need constant attention. My big contribution to v1.01 was setting myself up with a performance profiler and going to town on FE. So, is anyone noticing a big performance boost with v1.01 over 1.0?
Hf, your mods bypass moderation. Shouldn't be any wait.
I don't have an easy solution. We need some sort of moderation system. Believe me, you should see the stuff that gets submitted.
Should almost do a poll on this: Would you be willing to give up player designed units to have a greater visual variety in the races? Basically, the limitation is that each body type / skeleton requires its own set of clothing, armor, etc.
Post is now a sticky.

The AI should constantly be peppering you with various insults (or buttering you up with new compliments). I would love to have the AI, when losing a war, say to me something like "You think things are going well for you now? Soon I will reload from a save and wipe you off the face of the earth!" Clearly, you're sitting there thinking of insults, why n
