Diplomacy not really improved.

After playing a fair few games the world still seems to be world at war with fantasy kingdoms..We have new diplomacy stats but relations just downgrade with most factions anyway due to too many negative points compared to good ones in the diplomacy panel.

Factions who are far away do not head to neutral like mentioned in the notes.

Adding all of the possible diplo modifiers together (except family modifiers), I come up with a net -58. Basically this means the game is going to spiral into war at some point during any given campaign. I don't necessarily think there should be a net 0, but perhaps a little love to the possible positive modifiers might help even things out a bit.

It's easy to mod to your liking. You can mod better relations for parties of the same alignment. Also you canmake AI happy when you pay him tribute and so on.

If you want AIs to like you, try getting those nonaggression pacts set up and keep it goign until you can set up alliances then their green face will change to blue.
