I bought FE early when it was in beta, direct from Stardock thinking I was supporting the game and the developers. Now I find that, thanks to my early support and all my money going to Stardock (rather than Steam getting their 30%) if I want to buy FH I would have to pay $19.99 whereas those who bought later and through Steam can now get it for $9.99.
What a great way to repay customer loyalty.
While it sucks, its actually only $13.59, so really you are only spending ~$4 more than people who bought FE on steam.
Actually no, as I live in the UK I would have to pay £10.19, which is $15.47 at current rates (The Stardock store is only ever in USD though), so I'm paying more than 50% more.
The game is currently being offered in the Stardock store at $19.99, regardless of whether you bought FE through them. When it was $39.99 I could get it at a 50% discount as an FE owner, so why do I not get any discount now, as Steam owners do?
TBH, it's not the $5.47 that tees me off, it's the message it sends and what it says about how Stardock values (or rather doesn't value) me as one of their direct customers but will happily chase all that Steam cash.
