By mistake I clicked the EXPLORE button for my monarch, and now he won't stop exploring whenever he has a chance. If I manually direct him to another square, he will move in that direction for one turn, but on the next - off he goes exploring again. And he does not show up in the queue of unmoved units, so if you think he is going to the assigned destination - you will be disappointed.

  I have tried rehitting the EXPLORE button and trying the GUARD button, to no avail - he wants to explore. I'll have to start over again, because this is really annoying. g
