As we can see from this picture here, Tessa has regeneration active.
I fought a small (1 unit) band of mites, and since it would be a completely trivial battle I just used auto combat. Results are here.
The problem is that, as shown in the victory diagram below, Tessa took four actions (Move, Move, Move/Attack, Attack/Victory). She should have regenerated eight points (I have one Life shard), but did not. She finished the combat two points down from when she started.
