[BUG][.86] Caravans in Unit Tree

A caravan suddenly showed up in my unit tree.  It's selectable but I can't do anything with it.  It continues on its way when I hit end turn.  It stays in the unit tree from the time it shows up on.

This was reported in .75 and .77 also.  Had you been playing a game and then loaded a saved game without exiting FE?  That was the case in the earlier reports and is one of several problems with loading saved games without exiting.

I've started a new game in .86 and I'm seeing the same problem.  It happened after I signed a trade treaty.

Ah, that's different.  Maybe when they eliminated caravans in 0.86 they missed this.

It's not all caravans and it doesn't always happen after a trade treaty.  It was a new game started in .86.  They eventually went away, though I'm not sure when.  It was at least a dozen turns because I checked every turn for that long and then gave up checking. I  noticed at the end of the game that they were gone.

I saw caravans on the map in .86 after with trade treaties, so they aren't totally gone.  So from a distance it sure sounds like OP had a trade treaty and the old bug with caravans in the unit list after a load-in-game.

Caravans are still in the game, they are created by treaties (they aren't units).  But they shouldnt be in the empire tree at all.  We will fix it, thanks for the report.
