Klingon Academy has long been considered one of the best if not the best Star Trek space combat simulators ever. It has a campaign and many excellent features making it similar in play in many ways to the likes of silent hunter. You fly the ship but must give key combination verbal orders to your crew to adjust ships systems such as engine and shields.
However the game is dated and was nigh unplayable because most modern systems either would not run the game or if they did, you would get the famous "star field" flash. Which meant having the entire screen flash white every few seconds. Making it hard to see anything.
Now apparently their is a patch to fix all.
Has anybody tried this yet. I found it two seconds ago and was most excited by the prospect of being able to enjoy this game (thanks to shelldrake) in full.

Well, it would seem that today is not a good day to die for Klingon Academy. Komat has published two fixes for Klingon
Academy that make the game playable on modern operating systems, check out the thread here and Komat's website containing the fix here. The first fix corrects a fault that could cause the game to crash on modern multi-core systems and the second is a DirectX wrapper that corrects a number of rendering issues with the game.
Having had a couple of crash free, flash free and fire lag free games I'm sure I speak for everyone who is a Klingon
Academy fan when I say thank you Komat!
