The memory leaks are fairly well gone for me unless I play for hours at a time, but I'm starting to see a lot of slowdown like pre-1.11. Also, there's a very specific bug from a "ghost unit" that sticks around on my save games and is still present. If it's still there on 1.19f I'll upload that save game.

I realize that 1.19e is a beta so expected the slowdown. I try to imagine I'm playing a game of tournament chess.:annoyed:   On my very middle of the road computer I'm up to 5 minutes per turn ( turn 450+) and sometimes I forget what was going on the previous turn.

5 minutes?!? Please tell me this is an exaggeration... What is this "middle of the road" computer you speak of?

Wow, that's insane. I've never seen more than a few seconds of lag between turns, but granted I do tiny, small, and the sometimes medium maps. I'll have to do a large map this weekend to see how bad it gets. Still, no way it could be worse than CivIV or FFH2.

I have an Acer 2.4 gigahertz dual core (3 years old) desktop running Vista Ultimate 32 bit with an ATI 4650 graphics card - and, no, I'm not exaggerating. Playing Challenging on a large map with 7 other factions. On the good side, the game appears to be quite stable and the game has been quite interesting so far. Incidently, I hate those Sion crapweasels. Who are those guys? I had to use the Escape spell 3 times, regroup and attack again before finally taking down Magnar's main city.

Awesome. I hope this patch fixes my crash issues :).

it did not help my OOM issues, as it still ooms about turn 250-260, BUT the elemental ram use HAS dropped at OOM to LESS than 1gb.

ENCHANTMENT, ENCHANTMENT

lmao

The more recent betas have a lot more debugging in them to track down memory so they will be slower.

1.19f analysis here: https://forums.elementalgame.com/406296

Summary of Observations:

  • URGENT PROBLEMS?: Pariden is creating pioneers but they aren't moving anywhere to create settlements. Gilden was in cryogenic stasis until sometime between season 36 and 48 (pop locked) and then recovered.
  • The "spouse on city but not in city" has reared its ugly head again - across several factions.
  • Recommend giving sovereigns and spouses xp per turn or have them explore the world (being careful of course).
  • Cursory pass - spouses or sov's are still not being geared per gildar and tech levels. If the spouses are just going to camp the capitals (which is fine with me as a defensive unit) then please max gear them based on gildar and tech levels.

Brad - please review Pariden's pioneer issues, Gilden's pop lock, and the "spouse on city but not in city" thing.. Those first two things seriously reduce the fun factor. For ridiculous difficulty please gear the sovereigns, spouses, and champions.:cylon:

1.19f memory usage from reload analysis here: https://forums.elementalgame.com/406297

Summary:

Well memory was increasing until around load #4 where it seemed like it peaked and was holding steady from load 4-9. At this point I was optimistic there was a ceiling put in to stop it but... on #10 it increased and by the 13th load it was a crash. Since it happened on the load, it did not CTD as I was able to exit from the main menu. It gives the error that the save game is not compatible with the version, same thing I saw in 1.19e. Looks like memory usage went up about 430MB across 12 loads so that is an average of 35.8MB of memory not clearing per reload which is better than the just under 50MB I saw in 1.19e.

Hmmm... Both cloth and leather leg armor defense has been reduced by 1. When was this changed? Good to see that devs are looking in to armor balance. I will have to update my thread.

Are you sure? I don't see a difference. Cloth has always given 1 and leather has always given 2. Maybe I'm mistaken?

Ya I'm pretty sure cloth pants used to give 2 armor and now it's just 1. Both pants and chest pieces were 1 defence higher then other armor pieces but this is no longer true for cloth and leather pants.

Derek - this is working great except there is still an issue where you can't cast on a stack located within a city. It brings up a blank box instead of showing the units. Thanks.

Derek - two more things:

Thanks.
