Joystiq Previews Elemental: War of Magic

Joystiq has taken a look at a preview of Elemental: War of Magic, and has published their preview of the game.

“There's a lot to deal with in Elemental -- it's the product of a man and a company that knows how to make solid and satisfying strategy games, and even on top of that, it's a wild mix of genres and gameplay conventions and customization options. Even if you're a die-hard Civ player, it will probably be easy to be overwhelmed by everything happening in this title.

But that's exactly what some players want. For those looking to dive in and get lost in a sea of fantasy-based strategy, Elemental will gladly provide the plank when it's released tomorrow. “

Wow.  Sudden negativity.

 

Anyone know why there are NO reviews of Elemental out yet?

Huh?

sounded more like he knows Stardock is a small indie developer that does things its own way  and  the reviewer see's it coming through into the game.

Really?  Because usually when someone says "sorry" as an adjective they mean pathetic...

he was apologizing for using the word elements (as in it was punny) least that's what it seemed like to me...

I'd say that to do a proper review one needs to play the game for a while, as such it should be a few weeks before a review comes out.

To clear up the (unintentional) ambiguity, it should have read "elements (sorry)".  Perhaps with a strategically placed emoticon.

Well, it really is a preview. I wonder if they even played the game at all... Just a few quotes:

 

"...fantasy RPG with a deep and long story, and a tactical battle game.."

"It has a huge singleplayer campaign ... and even a multiplayer mode."

"Combat takes place on a completely different tactical screen, where you control individual units, each with their own spells and abilities."

 

Where can i get this game?
