Quoting Noam_B, reply 15i suggest the developers wake up before it's too late.
What exactly are you expecting them to do to increase the number of players playing their game considering that this game is a niche game and was 'different' by design?
fixing the network code, implementing the least basic mp-features that even non-comercial amateur games have in beta stage. this game sucks even for a beta version of a niche game. well.... of course currently it does not suck so much anymore. but the point is IT IS TOO LATE. dg had many players at start and lost most of them due to the mentioned problems.
and now it suffers mainly from two reasons: small community, and the fact that the mentioned problems are only halfway fixed after so much time.
for me personally the most thing that pisses me off EVERY GAME I PLAY is the lagginess and stuttering. no, not what you might think now. when dg runs so called "perfect" it is what in other games i played is called damn laggy. we just got used to it and are happy like a fly catching frog that it is quite playable. its most worst game i ever played refering to the stability and performance of the network code. never saw something as bad as this, even not programmed by amateurs.
btw. when du we get a working ladder? with ranks that make sense? in one year? two? when do we get teamed matches (at least without skill matching)? this are all VERY EASY to implement things. so damn easy that i really wonder what they are currently doing.
well, it's very sad. it had a big chance and was wasted by releasing it without the minimal basic things any mp-game needs and any other one has. from an economic point of view: do it right or don't do it at all. otherwise you just waste your time and money. but they have luck, BIG LUCK, that the game play is so great that is still survives somehow. it is the decent gameplay that holds me here. but it really frustrates me seeing such a great game getting ruined by such stupid mistakes. it's so damn sad!
hope dies last. maybe they get some stuff done and can keep at least the currrent community. anyway, the money was it worth considering how many hourse i played. this i never denied.
edit: that they waste there time on modding instead on the important mp-infrastructure pisses me even more off. modding is the least thing that this game currently needs. modding is a luxurie that you offer when you have the basics. currently it is totally useless and will not help to increase the community. it's a waste of money and time! another stupid desicion. dg - a sad story of a great idea.
