I promoted the heck out of this game way back when and I still stand by it. Despite a few bugs in the expert level near the end of teh game, which could be worked around, I still found it to be an outstanding game. Heck I even got into a little conversation at Gone Gold with Mr. Smart over the game.
On a side note, in an interview the developer had mentioned the many things he would like to have included or hopes to include in teh sequel including the ability to jump into the fighters/bombers and control them manually.
Mithis seems to have split into 2 parts after the release of Nexus and Creature Conflict. The team responsible for Nexus became Most Wanted. They had begun work on a new game and IP for the PC/360, but due to what ever reason, HDI had to let teh team go. Most Wanted recently released a game for the Nintendo DS and I believe, from my conversations with HDI, they will be focusing exclusively with the Nintendo DS.
The second part of mithis became a part of Eidos and released the awesome game battlestations: Midway. Midway had been mentioned on the Mithis website and a tech trailer had been released. B:M in a way is, from the description from teh Mithis Nexus team, how Nexus or the sequal should play. (IE tactical and jump into any craft. Play as tactical, action or a combination of both.) The sequal to B:M (Battlestations: Pacific) is due sometime near teh end of April.
On a side note. My remaining contact with HDI left and the people at HDI decided to close the website and forum for Nexus. The moderator for the Nexus forums, Sargoth, opened a new forum here: http://forum.keyswow.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=23&p=86#p86 Modding is pretty small but some really cool stuff has been done including some stuff from some of teh modders here. If you are interested in any of the mod stuff I believe I have a backup to almost 95% of it. Just let me know or post the request on teh above link.
