Kohan was pretty nice, but balance was horrible in multiplayer :( The Deer Rider Archers were tooooooo good. Same with some magic support :(
Quoting Frogboy, reply 60Well so far I haven't seen anything that causes me concern for the quality of Civ V itself. I like a lot of the new directions they're taking with it. I don't think they are "dumbing it down" based on what I'm reading. I think having the main map being more tactical in nature is going to add a lot of depth to the game.I haven't seen anyone question/criticize its quality (production-wise I think yo
Well, you can get that without having 234 improvements for the same thing :p
I have been reading both interviews and I have to admit the game looks amazing. The change to "panzer general like" combat is a great idea in my book.
I don't see the Ribbon going away any time soon now that they have ported the whole Office, most Windows apps, MS partners are selling it as a control,... You can try the Ribbon Hero add-on/game to see if you may change your oppinion about it, although Ribbon love/hate is pretty extreme in general :p http://www.officelabs.com/ribbonhero
They have unified the UI for all the Office apps. And then a million of minor details. Probably normal users won't see them much, but they are nice to have if you are a power user. Also, no idea if 2003 or 2007 will work with the Office Live documents.
Performance will increase for sure, the code is probably full of debug things right now.
Yeah, it's surprising Microsoft uses its own products, who would have thought that...
If you want a good FPS go grab Perfect Dark in XBLA, old but great :)
Also, take into account that realms are managed in a very abstract form. Realms can be "landed" (own provinces, like nobles) or "non landed" (do not own provinces, like guilders). A province has a certain terrain, which determines: Maximum population level Maximum magic level The population of a province can be increased using actions ("Rule Province"), while the Magic Level of a province is always: Maximum Magic Level - Current Population Leve
Great to hear, looking forward to it :)
Totally agreed, with this OneNote completed the only thing it was missing :)
Who cares about map irregularities like that? Is your imagination so far diminished that you need your fantasy games to have ultra realistic river formations. We could go on for days about this map's similarity to real life and the justifications for its geographical qualities or we could just enjoy it. Or are you capable of enjoying things?
It looks silly and unprofessional. And it's not such a big deal to correct t
Quoting VicenteC, reply 62I'm with the people who think the two rivers out of the lake is totally weird. Rivers end on the ocean and a single river should go out of a lake (at the point of lowest elevation). Not any weirder than a Lake without any Rivers, In or Out, like to the North of Lake Gandru. LOL
Those types of lakes exist, although not so big and in such a place as it is in the Elemental map.

OneNote web is simply amazing, at last I can sync easily shared notebooks :)
It's entirely possible the devs have never played it! You should mention it to them and get them to take a look at the dynasty stuff.
In Birthright, the people who rule something are called "Regents". Let it be nobles (control the law), guilders (control the commerce), priests (control the faith) or wizards (control the magic). Regents rule because they are "Scions": descendants of people who fought in a cataclysmic batt
Agreed :) A pitty it will be hard to capture the same feeling with such a low level system as Elemental, but maybe a mod would work for that. Using Essence as Regency Points and so on, I don't think it would be too hard to put everything in place :)
Quoting Dale_, reply 4I loved Birthright! It had some potential, but the game was a bugfest basically.
Agreed, the game was a bugfest, but the original Pen and Paper setting for AD&D is priceless. It mixes politics and adventures really really well.
It's also nice from Birthright how it separates the 4 pillars of power: law, temples, guilds and magic sources. So even in the same realm, you have different regents each with its own political agenda, interests,... (as most temples, guilds or source players have interests in more than one realm, so you can't never be totally sure they are loyal to you if you are king).
Perfect Dark was recently released for XBLA, that's a really good shooter if you didn't try it in N64 lots of years ago ;)
They do have a lot of resemblances, but Birthright was much higher level management in general. It was much more high level politics than low level stuff like city building, unit designing and so on.
I wouldn't have much faith on the game been translated to spanish, specially with so much text in the lore... Although you could work on a mod to translate it :)
Rath my friend, clearly you've never played on a console with strange teenagers online... Or you'd know my pain. I like to lan too, with buddies I know in RL. I don't much care for playing with or against foul mouthed, poor losers... And thats pretty much all you find on the consoles in MP. I actually agree with most of what you said though.
Honestly, idiots are everywhere in MP, not only in consoles. I have had my ow
