Also your 1.4 debug looks like you loaded a saved game. If the save was from 1.31 version, it could cause issues running in 1.4. It's best to start anew.

I think it was because if you had unlimited range after a while you would be able to see the entire map, which would be to much for the game to display all at once especially in the larger maps.
Funny how after it took years to get a perfectly stable XP(atleast mine is ), now we'll have to start from scratch again. Just thought I'd throw that in.
I have found if you get about double the AI's military rating they get friendlier out of intimidation. Getting close though can still be near impossible.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks it's a little cumbersome to have to disband a fleet to upgrade the ships in it. I also use the colony management screen every turn and would love some way to tell where the planets are in the galaxy from that screen. After playing for months on medium and large maps,(I usually like quick games)I'm trying a gigantic and those small things are already looming a little larger in the bigger galaxy.
You need to go in to your programfiles/Stardock/Totalgaming/GalCiv2 Folder and open the debug.err file in notepad, then copy and paste it in a reply. That will help analyze you problem.
What I usually do is if I really liked a game but beat it, I would go to something else for a while and come back to it in six months or so. Played through a lot of my games twice this way and it doesn't have that "I just did this" feel as much. I'll still throw in something like Imperium Galactica II every now and then even though I've must of beaten it 20 times, but it still fun.
I always build one type. One or two basic support and all the engines I can cram on it. If I can't reach a resource I want. I either build another starbase to extend range or colonize further if still colonizing. It's all about speed baby!
What a sad little man he must be. The worst part is him running off longstanding members of this community just for his "experiment". Hopefully he's through stirring up trouble. I know you always try to see the good in people Mumblefratz and I envy you for that, as examples like Lord Pinko really make it difficult for me to be that optimistic.
I noticed messing around with the bonuses this morning, that sometime when I reset it doesn't actually reset till i go back and forth between screens hitting reset again. Otherwise I go back to look at the inherent bonuses and all the bonuses are still there. Just seems kinda random as to when they stay cleared.
I have played GCII many times at 2560x1024 using dual monitors. I just had to be sure my desktop resolution was the same or I would get the black box thing.
The Official release of DA is not till February. It looks to be about a three month beta. So if you didn't preorder it'll be Feb.
heh NOTSURE it says. Kinda reminds me of Butters from Southpark.
The Races have some inherent abilities that you can't choose like the miniturization the Yor get. Of the ones that you can choose if you choose the same bonus with your ability points as one of the inherent bonus, you will lose the inherent bonus. It was done this way to keep the bonuses from getting to powerful if stacked.
This is taken from info at fas.org site. The NIMITZ-class self-defense measures include: missiles, guns, and electronic warfare. The NATO Sea Sparrow Missile System is comprised of two launchers with eight missiles each. Sea Sparrow is a radar-guided, short-to-medium range missile capable of engaging aircraft and cruise missiles. NIMITZ-class also has Close-In Weapon System mounts for short range defense against aircraft or missiles. Each mount has its own search and track radar, and a
lol. I'm starting to feel that way. Spent another hour and a half trying to get through, may just have to skip this one. Getting frustrating.
Well, I'm doing pretty good. Still plenty of money, good hull, good weapons. The problem I got now is i've run into a text quest that is giving me a hard time. It's the Clerks Unlimited contest one. The Elemental Forum only gives a couple of suggestions due to the random nature of it. I must of tried it bout ten times now. Not sure if anyone can help, but I would sure appreciate a few pointers on this one. Thanks.
There's quite a few over the years as expansion packs are reviewed on their own merit and not as a full game.
Mine, I've had for a while is The Kronik Reighn. Ugly and evil. Bonuses change from game to game. Usually universalist. arrgh!.. never get the pics right the first time or at all sometimes.
Thanks for the info. Since it may be a while before I complete the game, I'll just save when I'm about to go into a deadly situation. If I die I can see the stats and reload. Hope I get to the end before the GC2:DA beta comes out, cause I'll definately be on that come the 16th. Already thinking of work excuses.
I've owned consoles since Atari 2600 up to Xbox, but as game console prices reach into budget PC territory it just doesn't make since any more to buy a console. Even a current budget pc can play games close to the graphics level of a current console. If not, it will in six months. So I'll be staying out of the future console wars until they can justify the price of a mostly single purpose machine.
Well I'm in year 6 now about to break $100K. Still been with the same strategy only now I can actually go in to dominator systems and screw with them. Still can't fight more than a couple at a time, but I can outrun them and snatch high priced items. Then if I can't stop for gas, it's across the star and out. Getting to be a whole lot of fun. I have one question though. Is there a way to see how many missions I've done? Like what it shows when you get killed and go to the end screen. I haven't f
Peanut butter and anchovie sandwiches for all!
Hey I'm glad to see we got a forum for this awesome game(bookmarking now). I am still working on my overall strat for this game. Right now I'm a Galian(maybe spelled wrong) merchant. Been running the government missions with a little trade. I also keep a lookout for any Dominator battles. If I notice one close enough, I'll zoom in and snatch any equipment I can and even get a kill or two if I can isolate a
Seems Microsoft is wanting to push me to an alternative, as I've tried to upgrade to IE7 three times only to have it fail at completion. heh.. Seems I can't even get to the buggy parts.
