Just verified that the 945 is what we have running and is the lowest intel intergraded card we will be supporting (it was the fist one with Shader2 support). So yeah, you're all good for Elemental! :)

Also, try running with the /skipintro paramater, or go into your prefs.ini (my games/elemental) and set SkipIntro = 1
This was actually in before alpha, but somewhere it got broke :( I know I couldn't live without it ;)

I could have sworn the laptop we used to fix gfx issues for the Beta1 Update had an Intel 945, but I'll verify for you. In the end, the only video card REQUIREMENT is support for Shader 2, which every card made for the last 5 years should have (even most intel internals).

The crux of the issue is that the cloth map is solely for displaying the necessary info. If you start throwing too many colors into the mix you mar this intention. For example, when I see blue, I can quickly determine following... - If it's a blue icon, then it's somethign that belongs to a certain race - If it's a blue line, it's a river - If it's a faded patch of blue, then I know it's arctic land The more things blue is used for, the slower
Yeah, I dont want to use color everywhere, since it's really supposed to be a raw (but somewhat fancy) display of the necessary data. If anyone really wants their oceans blue, theres a pretty easy-to-edit png file that should get the job done :) It could be our first official mod ;)
lol We'll be putting this in later...I fear it's bad luck/mojo/karma to put in a 'this game is so great it needs this ' feature when the game is far from greatness. We'll make the game addictive first, then put in the alarm clock when you've played for 8 hours straight ;)
The issue is being looked into, but yeah, Elemental has to be able to hit our servers to grap the necessary data files. I'll try and get CariElf in here to explain better and hopefully determine a work around.

We don't want to wait until EVERYTHING is fixed before releasing an update...we're actually hoping to put out a build on Thursday that seems to fix some major graphical issues people are having.
Fixed for the next update...the Capitar race config was missing its environmental data.

Sight was majorly bumped up for the PAX build...this is a side effect and will be fixed for 1a :)
Fixed, though 1a is going to have mining tech removed until we can nail the other parts of the tech tree.

I think the netbook stuf wil be comin later..we're going to probably have to make some netbook-specific UI to compensate for the resolution equirements.
Being a Channeler, you actually get a fraction of the experience gained by your trained units. You'll be able to raise the percentage gained though this 'passive' experience through the tech tree IIRC.
