Just verified that the 945 is what we have running and is the lowest intel intergraded card we will be supporting (it was the fist one with Shader2 support). So yeah, you're all good for Elemental! :)

Also, try running with the /skipintro paramater, or go into your prefs.ini (my games/elemental) and set SkipIntro = 1
Should we be re-reporting known issues with the new patch now?
No need...we know what bugs remain, but if you can't find a forum post for a given bug, assume it's new and please let us know about it :)

I could have sworn the laptop we used to fix gfx issues for the Beta1 Update had an Intel 945, but I'll verify for you. In the end, the only video card REQUIREMENT is support for Shader 2, which every card made for the last 5 years should have (even most intel internals).

Hey Everyone! Version 0.23 (aka 'The Beta1 Update') is now available on Impulse. We highly suggest those with major graphical errors on the main map give this a go. As for the major issues not listed as fixed... Saved Games: We're currently narrowing down the major issues with loading a saved game. These will be ironed out by next Thursday (Beta 1a). Crashs on Startup: This build won't do anything for people who can't get into the title screen. We have som
Makes me again want a sort of 'map room' UI where I can easily tweak the display to get the type of info I want most at the moment.
Probably a good idea....I can see even the cloth map getting busy in late game.

The crux of the issue is that the cloth map is solely for displaying the necessary info. If you start throwing too many colors into the mix you mar this intention. For example, when I see blue, I can quickly determine following... - If it's a blue icon, then it's somethign that belongs to a certain race - If it's a blue line, it's a river - If it's a faded patch of blue, then I know it's arctic land The more things blue is used for, the slower

Yeah, I dont want to use color everywhere, since it's really supposed to be a raw (but somewhat fancy) display of the necessary data. If anyone really wants their oceans blue, theres a pretty easy-to-edit png file that should get the job done :) It could be our first official mod ;)

lol We'll be putting this in later...I fear it's bad luck/mojo/karma to put in a 'this game is so great it needs this ' feature when the game is far from greatness. We'll make the game addictive first, then put in the alarm clock when you've played for 8 hours straight ;)

We don't want to wait until EVERYTHING is fixed before releasing an update...we're actually hoping to put out a build on Thursday that seems to fix some major graphical issues people are having.
What I'm hoping to see most is AIs (with agendas based in the back story) that make as much or more of a difference in game play as any blunt instruments like a faction bonus for agility or mana production.
We have a lot of cool ideas in the 'backstory' area for the different races...none of which will be seen in these first betas :(
Maybe every beta stage could have a new intro that reflect the passing of time in videogames (now i'm asking alot i know!)
We were thinking the same thing, actually :)

I think the netbook stuf wil be comin later..we're going to probably have to make some netbook-specific UI to compensate for the resolution equirements.
