Hmmm...I'll forward this to the coders...I seem to remember one of them having a similar problem reciently. Hopefully they;ll have the answer

S.Alliance: Sorry, I havn't heard of this problem happening...though It does sound like you may have accidentally set a "Wireframe" mode that the programmers put in for testing purposes. Unfourtunatly, I dont know how to turn it off...plus, I would think it'd go away after restarting a game. Post a screen shot, and hopefully we'll get somewhere with this problem
Hey guys! Thanks for the prompt feedback on the new beta2A build...I'll address what I know. >>About 2/3 of the way through my opponent became HUGE (his picture, his plain etc): -THis is a prob with B1 that must have crept back in. Should be a straightforward issue to fix. >> When you make a level 3 HQ you get a little guy with a suitcase, who is he? - He's known as a "Campaign Operative" He boosts your awareness in
Renegade: Make sure the the startup parameter is nointro with no spaces ('no intro' will cause the crash you noted above). Please let us know if the problem continues after this change.
Real quick: I think the "Stategy Map" feature sounds like a GREAT idea (which is probably why other games have it). We'll throw the idea around the office and see if we can come up with a fresh implementation of it so its not just cut'n paste from another game
Lebowski: A 128MB video card should definatly be enough to run the game. As for the check boxes, we should probably hide those if youre in single player mode...they dont have to be (I don't think they even CAN be) selected when playing against the computer. That screen doubles up for Multiplayer, which is why those ready buttons are there. Firelord: No, there aren't any codes out for TPM yet. The release schedule has us going gold in May
Jeff George: What are some of the items that you feel PF out performs TPM on? I've booted up President Forever several times, and feel the game is difficult to get into due to an over-complexity (IMHO) of the interface. When presenting information (and in this genre there's ALO
Excellent...you guys sure do deliver Thanks for taking the time to post this kinda' feedback...it's exactly what we were looking for! I'll touch on a couple of isses... - Running-Mates: Hopefully in by the next build, running mates will be chosen half-way through the game (week 20). He'll become a unit omn the screen that can be positioned wherever, but will use stamina and s
Lewbowski- This could be a video memory issue. What are your system specs (video card as well). Jesse- The .dds files they're refering to are the ones created and stored in the polmachine/gfx/ folder. Deleting them all will make the game create a fresh batch...we're working on getting this process automated, though Could you also post specifics on your video card? We're find
Letar: -That's weird that the options screen would crash in one instance and not the other. We'll be on the lookout for what's going wrong there. -Little message mis-prints like that are good to know (they take away fro mthe game's polish). We'll have that fixed pretty quickly. Corran: -I dont think there are...that may end up giving the user too much information. On the otherhand, since the polling data is slightly 'off' throug
Corran: Yes, could you send the installation file to [email protected] and [email protected]? Also, did you try a fresh install after this error? Gaumar: What are your system specs? We're now playing a fullscreen movie at the start of the game...it may be concerning that. We'll try and figure out these bugs and get a fix out ASAP. I got the build to update correctly on my machine at home...has anyone else been able to ge
Yeah, I think that's actually why they held off charging your CC. Now tat the price is finalized, you'll get charged the new/final pric, instead of the old/approximate price.
We have a "News" screen in the works that'll give the player feedback on a weekly basis (or every 5 weeks, whichever is less annoying). Also, be sure to utilize the "Effects" section of action screens..the thums down and thums up images will give you some feedback on how the public will accept your ads, campaigns, ect. It's not alot of data, but its enough to figure out if what youre about to do will hurt or help your campaign effort.
ABT: Actually, that's the roll you (the user) plays...the Campaign Manager. The original name of the game was even "Political Campaigner", but in keeping with our "Corporate" Strategy game, we decided to go with "The Political Machine". Also, for anyone that's curious, it looks like there'll be an official new build of TPM up this thursday. A few of the addressed issues.... - Issues fixed so the game will run faster (or ev
I'm pretty sure all forums use the same database code, nowadays, so getting that working shouldn't be too hard (it'll just be finding someone with time to do it )
Game Length will be one of the adjustable stats in the "Fantasy Campaign" mode...I'm not sure about adjusting the "Stamina" directly, since that's a Candidate stat, but you will be able to make your own character and pump up their Stamina stats you you wish.
I agree, but there may not be a system set up on Stardock Central to allow this yet. I'll talk to Brad and see if we can get this put in for people that've pre-ordered and want to play.
Best guess for a new beta build is the end of next week. By then alot of the slowdown issues will hopefully be fixed, as well as memory problems and Win9x and ME incompatability bugs. We'll have a more accurate assessment by this Saturday.
We've been getting a few people that have similar sound problems. Now that we have a few system specs, hopefully we'll be able to get to the root of the problem.
Also, I think alot of the annoyance comes from the little bugs that make the game a "Beta"...hopefully by the next build we'll have cleaned up the loose ends and the game will become more stable / playable.
We actually just started working on some new screens that should help out with this problem. First, an improved "State Details" will show how a your position in a state is being effected by Ads, Campaigns, and your National Position. This way, you should be able to see how your opponent is winning a state, then counter it effectivly. Second, a graphs screen will show you ongoing charts of all the information you would need to see throughtout
There'll be a demo of it closer to the release date. Right now we're in the process of completing the game, with help from the beta testers (players on Drengin.Net) and weeding out bugs.
sound problems - Yeah, seems several people are getting that 'popping' with their music. We'll look into it further. operative selection problems - You can cycle through your activists and operatives with the O or TAB key to select them when this happens. We definatly need smarter clicking meathods on the map, though. whole screen blue - hehe Sounds like the 'wireframe mode'..we'll have to make that a Debug build only optio
mindlar - 1) Agreed...there are several cursor problems that need to be tackled. 2) That's really odd...We'll be on the lookout for that one. 3) That may have to do with the font problems that made the game crash on most Windows platforms...we'll be fixing that problem shortly, so hopefully that'll fix your bug.
When you played as a Rep, did you change your opponent to be a Dem? We need to put in a check to prevent games where only one party is represented, so that may have caused the crash. Otherwise, It'll take a bit more bug hunting.
