I dunno about Destiny's Ember but I definitely want that Hiergamenon. Where do I get my hands on a Limited Edition box?
MT Silver
I laughed. Then I pondered what it would take to actually implement these into the game...
[quote who="vieuxchat" reply="5" id="2597457"]In fact after being out of the sewers (the first time) you could get to the market and to the old woman that would give you som equest to get some paper. Each quest had a meaning : you learned things like patience, or what you see isn't always what is real, etc (i don't remmeber exactly what it was about, just the fact that it was very well done). That's the only time in an RPG where you actually have to create your first parchment to learn how to
I love PS:T to death but I just can't seem to remember how the magic tutorial went. Could you explain?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NBiHuAwyHR8 Best damn intro in the universe.
But we don't win by points... We win by crushing the enemy and being the last empire standing or completing the master quest etc. I don't really think people care all that much about high scores.
I agree with everything Frogboy said just now. One of the things I hated the most in Civilization is the inability to create great cities without local resources. Think about it. Cities like Las Vegas are impossible with a dependency on locally produced food system. If you need some kind of realism justification (although I don't understand why, the vast majority of cities in real life don't depend on local farms) just remember this: a wizard did it.
Will never play multiplayer. I like to take my time and relax with these kinds of games.
Wow... Just wow. I don't think I've ever seen a more well-made post. [e digicons]:')[/e] I agree with just about everything you said. It's all very Total War-ish but I can't think of a good reason not to include morale.
I love it. It's kind of like the Total War system only for cities instead of generals. [e digicons]k1[/e]
I'm definitely in support of this idea. I think it should apply to allies too. If an ally attacks an enemy adjacent to one of your armies, you should get the option to participate (possibly having diplomatic penalties if you choose not to aid).
I can totally see a Naruto MMO...
I'd like to see a remake of Syndicate ( http://www.squakenet.com/computer_games/724/Syndicate/download.html ). I was really blown away by this game when I was young (blown away ingame too. This game is really hard.) I realize it's not a QQP game but I just thought I'd mention it on the subject of old classics.
Wow these videos are really cool... Thanks for showing us the "sausage factory", Frogboy! This is the kind of stuff that makes Stardock better than the rest :)
This is the offtopic forum. He can talk about just about anything he wants.
Looks pretty sweet to me. Although I am a bit worried that this one is going to be even more CPU demanding than the first. It's barely playable for me on my old can as it is. :( Also, am I the only one who was really excited about the story in SupCom1 and was sorely disappointed after playing the campaign?
I love the idea. Reminds me of the pirates in Sins of a solar empire. Thumbs up!
I too am nervous about how Essence is gonna work out. I can see a lot of ways it can fail. Only time can tell.
What Frogboy meant is that the graphics will be highly scalable. People with shitty computers (like myself) will still be able to play the game by scaling the graphics back more and more. Judging by the early screenshots we've seen, the game is gonna look pretty damn good. Maybe not Crysis good but certainly better than Civilization 4.
PHEW! This was my greatest worry for the game. That you would listen to all these really hardcore people on the forums and think that they represent all the fans (or even the majority, I dare say). I'm very glad you're listening to us simpler people :) Regarding Economics; Fantastic! This is EXACTLY what I've been thinking. Major thumbs up from me Regarding the Research system; I think it sounds like a great system. It kind of
Never understood the sudden popularity of Twitter... So... Useless :S
The problem with micromanagement is that it takes time. At first not much time but later on it takes longer and longer to complete a turn. I played a Civ 4 game the other day where I conquered a technologically inferior enemy empire around the 1800's. He had around 15 cities and none of them had the basic structures built like granaries or aqueducts. My sprawling empire already had about 30 cities to manage (spread across 3 continents as well) and I just could not be arsed to manage 15 more.
I think it sounds great!
I rather like the approach Frogboy was talking about. [e digicons][/e] from me :)
That looks pretty awesome. Can't wait to see the real thing :D
