agreed dear sir, but then there are some difficulties to tell the difference between a behaviour of the game coming from a bug and a design choice that needs to be understood I, for one, was not aware of the exact purpose of these two forums

to sum it up "pioneers are too cheap", you have a point why do you need to write a whole post on it ? :vulcan:
how about opening the equip window instead ? +1
Is their a keyboard shortcut to select all the units of a city and walking them out at the same time? How do I reform a group that I walked into a city with? I have been selecting each one and reforming the party out side of the city limits. Even a shift + left click (select all units) then right click to select the tile they go into or attack into would be handy. Thanks.
agreed, we are in
Improving my research doesn't seem to be helping me at all. Is it because I have taken over too many cities?
research works quite well, numbers change over time, for example +5 food per grain raises the population of your cities, but sometimes you need to build an improvement in your city to profit of the advantage researched, I find the research tree difficult to read, it seems that just by researching the node thin
city hubs for each faction would be wonderful, placing buildings is somewhat of a chore, getting rid of huts/houses/villas was already a big step ahead, if a city could show only the most important buildings, so as to have an identity, this would be perfect, players will be able to tell that a town is specialised because of the kind of buildings visible today city buildings are barely visible, the effort to draw each building is lost as we need a global point of view to move armies, I
agreed, wildlands should be a mid-game challenge rewarding enough to allow the player to end the game quickly, giving weapons or units that speed up late-game
so pioneers are everywhere because they are so numerous, not because monsters leave them alone ? I did slain an army composed only of pioneers
this is unfair ! a city uses only the yield coming from ONE SINGLE TILE but all the tiles of the ZOC become useless if you raze it ... 9+2=11 all right, didn't see that [e digicons]X|[/e] world wonders not being buildable again seems legit thanks Kongdej
you want to remove what makes a game "unique", i.e. randmoness I absolutely disagree please leave it as it is
you probably targeted an enemy, you should have targeted your hero, which is, as darklander0 said, quite silly
flamewave does 4 damage to each enemy during my games
Suggestion: Can we have a way of using books and healing items in the equipment screen instead of buying or trading them and then having to exit and find them on the character to use them.
do you mean "buying and using an item on the same screen" ? there are two buttons top right corner : trade / buy, they work quite well and allow to switch between buying/selling and trading/wearing stuff - this is a major
modified OP found an axe with maul - what a blast ! renamed the hero Winnie the Pooh
everything has already been answered on these forums, please make yourself at home :) - try using the middle mouse button - there are very few shortcuts (b build, t train, espace stop walking, tab next unit, no shortcut for next city though, enter next turn - there are only a few more) - you DO NOT research spells in FE - there are "only" three research categories all right, and it is plenty enough IMHO
not a bug, this behaviour is inherited from WoM - probably the AI is unable to avoid monsters so settlers are not targeted otherwise it would be unable to create new outposts / cities, so it must be intentional
- When you destroy an enemy city yields don't appear on the ground, does it mean that each each faction needs a certain type of terrain to build ? - If a city containing a World Achievement is destroyed, is the achievement lost or can it be built in another city ? - I have a 11 attack axe with 9 cutting and 2 fire attack, how does it work ? Does fire adds to attack (2+11) if the target is not protected against fire ? Does cutting add to attack (9+11) ?
gad, now I have a wicked urge to install AoWSM again ...
some more : - you click on a tile to make your army move, if the tile is next ot a mountain and the screen is slightly tilted so that the mountain is close to the point where you click, the army decides to make the tour of the world ! - some creatures occupy four tiles at the same time, right over two lines crossing (will take a screenshot next time)
I have seen this happening to campsites, mines and shards as well. At least on the mines and shards this occured for me in the context of destroying the building built by an opponent on that site. In such cases the object reappeared a few rounds later, in case of inn and campsite this self-repair likelyhood seemed to be lower.
are you pillaging enemy territory ? in this case the rubble is smoldering and the AI re
- roads are almost invisible on the map and totally invisible on the cloth map - armies have a hard time finding roads - Kraxis declares war on me, a road appears between my city and nowhere (haven't explored that part of the map yet), I'm not informed of its existance and I can't see it on the map, next thing I know the city has been conquered, this is cheating - the instantaneous construction of roads isn't an improvement over WoM's microscopic ca
thanks Leo, I'll give it a try [e digicons]:)[/e]
I've just downloaded [090] yesterday and the game is already version [091.001] do I have to download again the whole game or the update [091.002] is enough ? I'm downloading the update, maybe the answer is try and see if it works ... EDIT : yep, the "update" takes the game from 090.something to 091.something
same observation for me, this is the first buggy version - it freezes for a few minutes then the following turn it crashes to desktop
pinned post should be updated, under windows XP the .zip file can be found here (after checking the "Show hidden files") : C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Stardock\Elemental - Fallen Enchantress the .err fils must be here : D:\Program Files\Stardock Games\FallenEnchantress although I haven't found one yet
I used Impulse because of Stardock, trusted them a lot, even if I bought some really crappy games, mostly from promising small developers, the point was and is supporting indie games, so I'll buy directly from Stardock
