Is there any way to turn these events off? Some of them alter the game so much that it's ruined. How do you turn off the particularly obnoxious ones?

I also made the colony ship obsolete--and than an anomalous event caused most of the planets to become magically better by a factor of 11. D'oh! The designers might want to work on "un-obsolete"-ing ships in the expansion, or at least giving us a popup window that says "are you sure? You won't get it back..." Talk about frustrating!
I prefer "Outer Space Bloodbath of Shrieking Gore" or OSBSG as a name. Much more catchy, especially to the 14-17 y.o. demo. Boy will they be surprised.
Less micromanagement. woo hooOOOOO!!!
new planet features would change this need or perhaps render it moot. I would appreciate any streamlining of the click-click-click-click-click process. I'm glad others have thought of this, too.
This may have already been discussed, but will GC2 have a search feature to find planets by class? Clicking on every uncolonized planet, especially late in the game, to find out its rating is a bit tiresome. Could the game "remember" which systems we've scouted and focus on planets that meet certain criteria when we want to go back and colonize them later?

during that time (perhaps designating your voting bloc to another civ for the time being?).
ship with a stronger one, a la Israel and the US?
That's what I thought, but for some reason I can only get down to 3 and then the click-off no longer works. That's odd. Thanks.
For some reason, I can't disable more than 3 races in the starup screen. Is there a minimum number you have to have to play a game? :notsure:
I'm downloading the halut pack, omega pack, evil pack, and others and for some reason they're not working. I have them in the galciv/mods/data folder, but they're not showing up in the game at all. what's up?
I downloaded the new trade route graphic, but now when I establish a trade route, all I get is a muddy-looking, dictorted image. What's up? I followed the instructions, I think. If for some reason I can't make it work on my computer, how do I get the old image back (the one I replaced)? All other mods working fine. :notsure: Any suggestions?
You are so gay. Let 'em play, says the Pragmatist Revolution.
Also, the suggestion that we should start new levels with some tech or development carryover from the previous levels is much appreciated. This was a BIG beef I had with WarCraft scenarios: you build up from scratch, you whoop a**, then you start all over again against opponents of increasing intelligence and resources. That sucked. Now, if we got to keep some tech advantages over levels, that would eliminate the ultra-boring re-researching and re-building phase of each scenario. Thi
I wholeheartedly endorse the inclusion of some minor civs in the campaign. The game just doesn't "feel" right without them. They would add to the depth of gameplay while allowing human players more options as far as mapping out strategy. Also, I think some good comments have been made about how to enlarge the discovery aspect of the plotline. The way it is now, the campaign ultimately comes down to beating the crap out of somebody, and that's a little dull after 8 missions. In-game rev
