We did have another thread on the subject going here somewhere, but for the life of me I can't find it now! I think the forum really needs some sort of search function.

I have occasionally found that I loaded up a forum and found that it just gave me the original top entry and no replies. If I went back and reloaded it then usually everything appeared properly.

I'm not sure who I'm more appalled at: the people who would trample over a child's stroller to get a "bargain" or the administrators and police who just let the chaos ensue rather than get some bodies out there to marshal the crowd!

Or an equal opportunity alien race that just happens to have a female emissary?

I now play Civ3 with Conquests expansion and it really improved the game for me. I do wonder about the Civ4 combat simplification and the taking of armies out of the game. However, having many different resources available to boost your units might add some complexities back in. Guess I'll just have to wait for the reviews

You know: that bottom one looks like a cross between a bedbug and an integrated circuit! The event graphics and art in general was one of the things that impressed me in GC; looks like you're onto a good thing here too.

Lara Croft is an interesting enigma: although the developers started pushing her sexuality in later titles, she was also seen as an icon of "Girl Power". So I'm suprised she isn't more popular amongst female gamers. I have heard the theory put forward that one reason for her popularity with males is that, as a female, they instinctively wanted to protect her!

Is this a first? http://www.wargamer.com/news/news.asp?nid=2324 A release date actually getting moved forward ? Can't wait. Civilization has to be my all time favourite game ever since the days when it was just a board game.

I've been filling in by watching reruns of Stagate Atlantis which I missed first time around and the 4400. I'll be interested to see how the time-travel effects are played out in the new SG-1 episodes though. Oh, seems like I completely missed the intent of that time-travel pair of episodes. Seems like half the SG-1 cast didn't want to get involved this time round though <img src="http://images.

Well, its true that it was lacking realism in terms of normal diplomatic behaviour but personally I liked the Drengins trying to snuggle me! But who is to say that alien cultures would communicate with us in such formal terms? Maybe aliens are much more comfortable with tactile communication?

Maybe I'm in a sactimonious minority but I'm an end user that applauds the decision. I could never get my head around how your normal average guy or gal could download copyrighted work for free when they wouldn't imagine stealing something directly. Perhaps its the anonymity of it that makes people feel protected (noone will know and I wont get caught) or the thought that its only the big company that will be hurt by it or the I just can't afford to bu

Not sure if this is an issue for you or the browser but I cant read the posts using Firefox (1.0.5 running under Linux). It shows the subjects OK but clicking on individual topics just results in a blank page. Netscape does work for me though on that machine. I guess 99% of your users employ IE but I thought you'd want to know.
