If it happens, it'll be better than the present, but I can't help wondering if MS loosens its death grip on the context menu, could RightClick make a come back? Wishful thinking, I suppose... Interesting post, pelaird. Thanks.
Tried installing Right-Click this morning. It installed okay but totally non-functional. Explorer kept restarting and Fences turned itself off, and DeskScapes wouldn't work. U

You can add a folder at the top of the All Apps section of the Windows 10 style and then place the shortcuts you want in this folder. 1) Open this location C:\Users\ YourUserName \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs 2) Create a New Folder and Name it using a # sign as the first character. In this example I am using "# Common Shortcuts" 3) Place the shortcuts you want to access in
So if you had windows open you would want the background to show just like the wallpaper, basically cutting out the window under it?
Thanks for responding Neil. I'm not quite sure exactly what you're asking, but here are a few images I hope will answer your question. <

It looks like Microsoft is finally going to let us customize the Context Menu in Windows 11 - 26H2. There have always been ways to make adjustments to the context menu using Registry settings or third party software, but this looks very promising. I have included a few pics to show the new settings that will be available, unless they change their minds. What are your opinions on this new feature? Right-click on the shortcut and select Properties. Then click "Change Icon" and "Browse..." in the dialog, and navigate to your new icon and select it.

You can create a group with just one tab. I think you can accomplish what you are trying to do this way. You can color the groups any way you like, or use a color to match your start menu background to make it appear like you have in your image.
Hi Pelaird, this might effectively be the same as having a 100% transparent Start Menu? Internal reference: ODNT-12551 Thanks again and best regards, Adam McGuinness Stardock Support Specialist
Yes it would be the same effect and I have tried this, however, I have Transparency Effects turned off in the Windows Setting because I hate all of my windows and su

I am using the Start11 v2- 2.7.4.0 with the Windows 10 Style menu. I have captured an image from my desktop that exactly matches the size of my Start menu. When the image is applied without Stretch to show entire texture turned on, I cant get it to match up with my desktop background. The same image opened with QuickLook at 100% and placed at

Just to clarify: By "not surviving", can you describe more completely what you're seeing happen? Do you mean a crash, a background disappearing, or some other symptom?
There is no crash, the restart of Explorer simply doesn't load DeskScapes after the restart. Something is blocking the DeskScapes Service from starting, or it stalls until an action ("

The upside down image is caused by the data in the metadata of the image which can be fixed in an image editor, but the stretching I don't have answer for. I have a lot of trouble making images fit the way I want. There needs to be a way to turn off the algorithm that controls the image size. I have marks on my monitor bezel for the four corners of the Start menu and will do screen capture the exact size of the Start menu, but it never displays correctly, with either Stretch to show entire te
This looks amazing, especially the tab support. I'm wondering if you would be able to support tabs in Brave Browser as you do in Chrome/Edge?
And add Vivaldi (a Chromium browser) to that list.

Very clever! and it saves quite a bit of vertical space vs. having titles. This could help others who would like something similar. I am assuming these are just empty Groups. I really like your layout.
