I agree. New parts would be much preferable to just models. I'm not sure whether or not it is possible.
As Sean Conners points out, it is far from clear what Kerry meant in his statement. What Kerry claims is that he was insulting Bush, and when he said stuck in Iraq he was referring to bad policy on the part of the President. I'm not sure whether or not that was what he really meant, but from the video, it seemed clear that either was possible. Furthermore, using terms like Hanoijohn Kerry doesn't add anything productive to the discussion. I can see
Was the AI code hidden for commercial reasons? I don't know about the other things, but the AI is all hard coded into the game. Even if we had the code, it really wouldn't help much, since we'd have to have to be able to recompile the game to do anything with it.
my spealing is bad due to dislexia, the fact i don't cheak it lazieness Lordpinko, consider using firefox 2.0 as your browser. It comes with a built in spellcheck for text boxes.
Do you have .NET 2.0 installed? If not, you can get it from microsoft. If not, any other information you can give would be very helpful, since I have not personally experienced this problem. WWW Link
Why link to a forum post which links to spore rather than simply linking to spore in the first place?
Go with blender. It is free, reasonably small, and lets you do editing. The directx SDK is extreme overkill for what you want. In addition, it has .x exporting by default.
In Arizona, if you are caught going either 20 or 25 over the limit (I don't remember which), you are automatically taken to jail. That's pretty ridiculous. Remind me never to visit Arizona.
Well, you could always play on custom maps
The AI could, in theory, be planning what it wants to do while you're playing your turn. I'm almost completely certain that it does. In fact, I believe that the reason the original game was made for the OS/2 was because it had the best multithreading support.
Hi everyone, my school just had its big computer conference this weekend, and the speakers were really excellent. A number of the talks were videotaped and made available online. I thought that some people here might be interested, so here is the link to the download site. The talks by Adrian Bowyer, Jawed Karim, and Joel Spolsky are particularly interesting, but almost all of the presentations are halfway decent.
Wow, that seriously isn't in the non CE ones?
Didn't the extra ship parts get included with the normal copies after a certain point?
I personally would prefer something similar to Civ 5's upgrade system. Those sneeky jerks! I can't beleive they managed to sneak another civ game past me. Seriously, though I really do like the Civ IV upgrade system and I wouldn't mind
IIRC the option in GC1 was a big source of support calls/emails/complaints. Out of curiosity, what exactly were people complaining over?
If I remember correctly, there was a way to use cheats to make a kind of flaky hotseat system. I never tried it, but if I'm remembering correctly, it basically consisted of using a cheat to switch which player you are playing as, then passing off the save file to the next person.
If a search of the galciv2 library doesn't turn anything up, it really wouldn't be too hard to make some yourself. Just look up the symbols online, then do a little editing and edit them into the game. I have yet to met a judge who understands the "So you knocked his teeth out because you disagreed about the 2000 Flordia mess?" If I were a judge, I would totally understand that argument. Unfortunately, I'm not one, so it looks like you're SOL.
That would be a wicked cool twist... to have several different civilization "preferences" that would help give flavor to the civs and a more expanded reasoning behind if one's people are happy or not Sounds kind of hard to balance correctly.
At the moment, it just assigns ownership to whichever star is closest when the planet is created. Unfortunately, I don't think there is currently a way to reasign it after the planet is created. If for whatever reason you want the planet to be closer to a star that is not its owner, the only way you can do this is by creating the planet close to the parent, then moving it somewhere else. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Mars is a pretty weak planet, I usually ignore it as long as I have other more enticing options available.
Yeah. Mod support is on the top of the to do list for the editor. At the moment, a lot of stuff is hard coded, so it doesn't play well with mods at the moment. Out of curiosity, which star type did I miss? Also, what is the problem with the previous maps? Is it due to the edited stars XML, or is there something else going on?
Hello everyone, The new update is ready, and can be downloaded from the sourceforge [link="http://https://sourceforge.net/projects/galciv2editor/"]project page/link]. The update has also been submitted to the galactic core website, so hopefully that will be updated before too long. The major changes in this version are: Added random map generator. Added ability to add ships to the map. Changed from text boxes to sliders whenever possible in the object editi
