I see the Republican canidate as Trent Lott in 2008. I admit I don't follow RNC politics like I should, but from what I've been hearing in the news I believe he's manuevering himself to be Bush's replacement. His moves have been designed to set himself as independent of Bush, and slightly more moderate, which I believe will allow himself to capture some of the middle block when Bush's "awe-shucks" charisma is gone. Cheers

It's not a belief exactly, belief requires something that is unprovable. Atheists, and on the same hand, though diametrically opposed, evangelical christians, don't have belief, they have knowledge. This may be knowledge that others claim is incorrect, but it is not belief in the strictist definition.
You think Stalin was a Marxist. What was he then? Stalin was a Stalinist, though he claimed he was a Leninist-Stalinist to give himself some credibility. Believe it or not, Stalin's main philosophy was, he who has the most power, wins. Cheers
It has been tried and failed. Tell me one place where it was tried and *succeded* China, Vietnam, most tribal cultures, Nicaragua before the American led coup, Yugoslavia. Never mind that none of those are actually communist in the way described by Karl Marx, which of course just proves another one of the points. Cheer
A mandate only works as long as people continue to agree with the position that Bush holds. Many conservatives feel that just because Bush was reelected means that automatically all of their issues will be pushed through. I would like to remind them that the Senate Majority Leader has warned Bush not to appoint ultra-conservative justices to the court. Cheers
The fact that we give them fair and decent treatment is what makes us better than them. If we should ever give that up, we would become like the animals we hate. Cheers

I would be outraged, but the school has a point also. They are paying her salary while she's gone, and they're also paying the salary of the sub who replaces her. Yes it's tough that she's losing her job, but in these days of low school budgets, the school probably doesn't have the money to continue paying her forever. Yes, that probably sounds callous, but realize I sympathize for the teacher and I doubt this is a decision the school board came to as quickly as the articl
They're afraid of inappropriate designs for the taberds, that's why they won't let anyone import their own. Or so I've been told. I'm game for just about any taberd, it'll probably be awhile before I can aford to buy it, but hey, that's what the game's all about right?
If a contract calls for armored Humvees, than you can bet that the humvees better have armor. And if someone forgot to tell the contractor that they were supposed to have armor on the humvees, well that's just as bad. There's also a difference, by the by, between assisting someone in crafting a question, and telling the person what to ask. And if the reporter was in a position to make one iota of difference on who the Sergeant called to ask questions to Rumsfeld I woul
And the lockjaw was oh so fun! Cheers
I'm sorry, but though that would be treason, if true, I'm not sure how that relates at all to Senator Kerry. It seems to me as if President Nixon committed treason, not the junior senator from Massachusetts. Yes, I was alive during Vietnam, I had an uncle and six cousins fight in Vietnam and I had my draft card. I also admit, I was thinking of how I would be able to flee to Canada should my number come up, but I didn't have to because the war ended less than a year
COL Gene, pict asked the question, I was answering, and including the question so he would know I was answering it. Cheers
My apologies iamheather, I am equating your opinions with those of your husband, he and I have had very heated arguments about social issues, this equation, in my mind, led to an unfair characterization of your post. I am more than willing for the federal government, in fact, I would love for the federal government, to call up a list of priorities and then, if we have enough to pay for every thing, great, more money to pay down the debt, if not, those items don't get paid for. I h
Did you serve in a war drmiller? Were you alive during Vietnam even? John Kerry is not the only veteran to have spoken against the war, and there are documented cases where US troops did do things that he spoke about. For that matter, the idea of Vietnam has undergone a strange transformation in the past 30+ years. People now speak about how we could have "won" Vietnam if we hadn't had those darned hippies, or if we'd escalated the conflict, or whatever. But thes
Very cute pictures Brad, I remember when my kids were that small. ::looks wistful:: Cheers
Umm, yes, iamheather, exactly like that. Bush took those numbers, assumed they would ultimately exist and gave a huge tax cut based off of them. (Like how I turned your attempted jibe at Clinton into a jibe a Bush?) Please iamheather, if you don't like me or my posts, try not to lecture me. I agree with most things Tex says, but I have a very dear place in my heart for NASA, if you decide not to like my saying that someone suggesting getting rid of my
don't know if you read my disclaimer, but maybe you should do that before you get on my case. "My Bad" Cheers
True, but nearly every LDS church has a boy scout troop and cub scout pack. That, and the fact that there are a lot of LDS churches out there... Well, you get the point. Lots of LDS troops. Especially in Nevada, Utah and Idaho. Drmiller, why did you define reverent? If you are attempting to show that reverent is the single relevant word which shows that Boy Scouts hate gays, then you're a little off base. I know a large number of "reverent" peop
Gold Star for Sarah. By making ridiculous charges like treason, dr, you have wandered far afield of the point. Cheers
Care to expand on your reasons why? Sorry, the I think you're wrong was directed to the post above yours pict. Cheers
Tex, you're upset about 16.2 million dollars being spent in a program which has already revolutionized the world twice? When the national deficit measures in the hundreds of Billions? That seems a little silly. But moving onto Jeblackstar's plan for the National Economy. Implement a national sales tax on luxury items. That means prepared foods, cars, maybe, TVs, computers, etc. No idea how much money that would raise, but it can be looked up on the int
It turns out my son uses the Central Time zone servers, less lag, no queues, and so far, he says, the server hasn't crashed except for routine maintainence. Cheers
And I think you're wrong. Cheers
An engineer dies and goes to heaven, presenting himself before St. Peter. St. Peter looks in the great book and can't find the engineer, so he sends the engineer down to hell. After a few days in Hell, the engineer decides to make some improvements, running water, flushing toilets, air conditioning, and stuff like that. God eventually calls up the Devil, and says, "Devil, how are things down in Hell?" Satan quickly responds that things are going great. God i
