Barak's political career did not start when he ran for the Senate, and Illinois politics is pretty dirty and big league. Not that I'm saying he's got enough experience to run for President in 4 years, but I think pushing him back 20 years is a gross underestimation of Barak's experience.

Since Dr. Guy's comment made about as much sense as wool socks in Texas in August, I will say nothing more about it than this, you are clearly ignorant of my position on the war, so I will spell it out as follows. I believe the war in Iraq was justified, WMDs or not, I am an avowed liberal. Some may believe that these two things are untenable, but it's the truth. My arguement with the Bush administration is on their performance during the war. Rumsfeld's commen

My last law teacher gave me a great bit of advise: If some loon comes to your house and tries to harm you or your family, make sure you shoot to kill. A dead person can't dispute when you say "he said he had a gun and was going to kill me and I thought I saw a gun in his hand" ::laughs:: One of my law professors said, "make sure you shoo

To be honest Brad, this is one of the reasons I never give out enough information on this site for people to figure out who I really am, I admite I've given enough clues that people could, if they really tried, and wanted to violate a few laws, could figure out who I really was. I had never realized that people could be so opposed to your political position that they would rise to that level of ire. I personally disagree with a large number of things you espouse, but I respect y

Brad, sometimes I am completely amazed by how much your game concepts look exactly like how I would want a game to look. You came out with GalCiv, which my son played, but looked exactly like how I remembered a good 4x game looking, from when I was younger. Then, you came out Political Machine, which was exactly what I wanted in an election year. And now, looking at your ideas for GalCiv 2, I am amazed to see that many of the new features are exactly what I wanted in an improve

Most of my friends through out my life have been female. Being male, some people have assumed that must mean that I'm sexually attracted to them. While I should point out, for the sake of accuracy (and their egos ), they are all fairly attractive, the thing is, I love my wife. I love her more than I have ever loved anyone else and I can't imagine that changing. Self discipline has never even come in

I regret to say that in the interest of my ulcer that Brad's political blogs are the only ones I will be posting on for a while. But seriously, they've started me teaching again this semester and I waste far to much time typing on this site, in addition to finishing my book, to really give my classes the attention they require. So, Brad, I will continue to comment here, since I'm addicted to the Blog, so keep up the

My feelings about this are mixed, for one, science has proven, to the extent that anything can be proven, that evolution exists. Species change over time, the definition of what evolution is, and denial of that is flawed. On the other hand, creationism, in the since that the beginning of the universe and the existence of God, can not be proven. Having said that, I believe that schools should be required to have classes on religion and philosophy. For that matter, I fee

Anyone ever notice that Whereas is quite possibly the most incorrectly overused word in government language? On subject, yes, the bill did give other reasons for going to war, but as the courts use outside material to understand what the heck a law actually means, so to do the people use the actual quotes given by other people, such as those listed above, to determine what the heck we were doing in Iraq. Having said that, both sides need to do less looking at whacko conspiracy

Dr. Guy, your understanding of Catholic Excommunication is incorrect. The church excommunicates you, sure they may do it because they feel you've removed yourself from God, but they've excommunicated a large number of people who thought they were close to God, some of whom, without which, your particular branch of protestantism would not exist. In Example: Martin Luther, John Calvin, John Knox, etc.

Dr. Guy, you are an insult to serious debaters and your reposting of non-objective partisan websites as somehow validating your insanity over others just illustrates that point. In five minutes I can make up facts and slap them on a website too, but will using them to back up my claims somehow make people believe me? Probably not. Cheers

Oh, and I know some experts in Electronic Law, E-Law, who would be thrilled to tell you exactly why what's being done is both illegal and legal at the same time, but I doubt anyone really wants to pay them by the hour. Cheers

As a lawyer, allow me to comment first on the EULA issue, one, if the company "sells" you the copy of the program, i.e. grants you the right to do whatever you want with it, except distribute it, then an EULA is essentially null. Now, let's talk about the other kind of EULA, one whihc is just, if not more, common, this EULA grants you the use of the program, but not ownership, in other words, you are allowed to use the program, but changing or fiddling with the program in any way is for

My son bought MOO3 and GalCiv at the same time because Amazon was doing this deal where it was only $5 more or something like that, 2 weeks later he completely ignores MOO3, even though I thought MOO and MOO2 were good games, and was playing GalCiv, despite the fact he bought the combo for MOO3. (apologies for the grammatical badness of the previous sentence) He liked the idea of being able to download other games from Stardock for only slightly more money. Brad, your downlo

Just out of curiousity, does anyone have any idea what Bigfire is referring to? I think Barak would make an excellent president some day, possibly the VP on 2008's ticket, but should the Dems not win that one, definitely a presidential bid in 2012. Cheers

This is something that I've been thinking about since I first played Mircoprose's Lightspeed, there was an awesome game, and it could be played on my 8086. Swirve.com has two sort of MMORTS's, Earth 2020 and Utopia, both allow you to build defenses against attacks when you were offline, and if the universe were big enough, say 100 million, or more, stars, it should be possible to prevent bigger empires from crushing littler ones, or some kind of "defense" for little empires could be put
