I like this idea but perhaps it could be a drop-down in the options to also include the other extreme - 'ironman', where purists have the game store a single autosave and this is updated at the end of every battle.

Recruited a hero called Ailsa who starts in her underwear and a cape. :)
Interesting. :)
It should prompt before ending the turn if research hasn't been selected. Similarly, it should prompt if a city finishes its queue for that turn.
Enjoyable first session. :) Should be a good afternoon in front of the box. Go Aussies!
Pariden seems to be the most magic focussed in a 'life' based sense so many of the spells are buffs and not many do damage. You need to use these spells to slow the enemy and buff and heal your troops. The benefit here is the extra mana you get each turn so you tend to use spells a lot. Resolin is the magic-focussed 'death' based faction where the spells tend to be more about hindering the enemy and reducing their defences etc. They also get extra mana. The oth
I'll definitely be getting Warlock as well as playing FE. Looking forward to both. To be honest, Warlock will need to be pretty damned special to compete with Fallen Enchantress. Totally agree that the more games in this genre the better for everyone.
I'm not missing dynasties at all. My vote woud be to ditch them. They work well in games like Crusader Kings where the game itself is more about politics. But I really don't see FE gains much by adding this. Having said that, one idea I would find interesting would be that when marrying your race gets one of the bonuses from the spouses race. And possibly a random negative as well. :) This would make each game more random and different.
1. It should be possible to raze your own outposts. Not sure why you would want to do this unless cities gobbled the surrounding land. Still no real need to raze them though unless you got your Pioneer back perhaps. 2. Distance between cities should be larger than 7 tiles. This would be good. Make you use more outposts and you wouldn't end up with cities everywhere in the end game. Would b
Yep. Agree completely. If it is best to have a large caravan network then please automate this. This is the last of the micromanagement pains from WoM.
I've found that normal strikes tend to do as much or more damage than Gambler's Strike as well. I've stopped using it.
They added it mainly because the AI would be at a huge disadvantage without it, they can't reload if a champion dies.
This. I don't believe I'm the only player who makes a lot of use of the quick-save. The way Champions have been structured in FE keeps the AI in the game because unlike us they can't just reload if a battle goes against them. I like they way they are structured in FE.
Finished a long game as Ceresa this time on a medium world. I've now completely finished two games which are two more than I did with WoM. ;) I'm still really enjoying the game but now some of the balance issues are presenting themselves. As I said in my opening post, this is a post about the game-play rather than bugs so I'll try to keep focussed on that aspect. Champions and stack limits By the mid game the champion
I've encountered glitches, crashes and bugs but I'm not going to focus on those aspects. What really interests me with Fallen Enchantress is the game-play so I haven't kept save-games or kept a stringent journal of bugs. Basically, if the underlying game-play mechanics don't stack up then the bugs don't matter. There have been a number of aspects discussed about the changes made to Fallen Enchantress and the fact that game-play elements had been removed or changed.
I agree. :) I've got a list of bugs and suggestions but they are minor issues. Really impressed with what Fallen Enchantress is so far. For me the acid test will be if each new game feels like a different world with different opportunities and threats. If it does I know I'll be playing it for years.
My initial impressions are that this game is freakin' awesome. The tutorial is perfect. Just enough to get you going without being bogged down - and it does a good job of introducing concepts. Extremely impressed with the tutorial and videos. The research tree looks great on initial glance and you can tell that a lot of thought has gone into the progression. Haven't checked to see if the research tree is unique for races. But this is a massive improvement. Unit
Good luck and well done to all at Stardock on the Beta launch. It's a big milestone and there is a lot of community excitement surrounding this. :)
Is the beta released? I can't see it on the new Stardock download page. Do we have to change a setting somewhere to see it like in the old system?
Can I also ask what the policy is for making 'monetised' videos on YouTube. Many companies have a published policy - such as Mojang saying 'go to town' where others will provide approval in writing. The main issue is that YouTube will not allow video producers to allow advertising on in-game-footage unless proof (a link etc) can be provided. I'd also be interested in making a Lets Play series if Stardock will allow monetisation of the content.
Good idea to get this established early again. :) Really looking forward to seeing the XML changes for this game. Already sounding very modder-friendly.
Looks excellent. :) Great improvement.
At first glance this looks absolutely awesome. I really don't mind if some factions are a bit better than others. Perfect balance can be boring. I like the idea of needing to consider the stage of the game when dealing with factions. There are some great games out there where balance is way off so Derek, please embrace the differences rather than aim for luke-warm. I'm a bit concerned that the unique units aren't really unique at all and that they can be copied by
I don't know about the rest of you but the main way I peruse the posts are via the 'Recent Posts' link in the button bar. For months now most of the posts that turn up are links to bloody 'Forum Games' in the 'Everything Else' forum. You know the ones - last post wins etc. To be honest they really give me the shits and I would love a way of filtering this particular forum out of the list. User preference would be awesome but failing that can they be removed from th
I'm looking forward to this almost as much as I was looking forward to WOM ... and that has me a little worried. I had told myself 'never again' but after seeing the latest development posts I can't wait! :)
Looks great. :)
