So I have been a GalCiv playing going back to the first version released on PC, I'm "old" at 59 lol. I loved them all except I was cold with GalCiv 4. First, well because of Epic. Second though it just seemed unfinished and confusing to me. I bought it of course but I quickly lost interest. <p style="margin: 0.25em 0px 1em; font-size: 16px; background-c

So, I have rolled the dice and bought GavCiv 4 Supernova on steam today in early access. I figure it is close to release why not. I'm hoping things are more complete and polished now since it is bu

Early game, turn 8. Populate new planet, advisor says to assign governor, see that I do not have enough credits. Go to screen and raise taxes to medium, or up one level. Close that screen then advisor tells me people of earth unhappy. Click that it it tries to go earth screen I guess but quickly the screen goes black. Music still playing but cannot get back out of there and have to kill it.

Looks and sounds very intriguing. Still on the fence about getting the alpha. I signed on for the GalCiv3 Founders when it was first available. I was somewhat bummed when it released that it was a subset of GalCiv2 although I did play it quite a bit. Not sure I like having to use Epic either. In the end I am sure my curiosity will get the better of me at some point. [e digicons]:)[/e] *sigh* well that didn't take long.... after reading more on the galciv4 webs

Will be interesting to see what the impact on PC/Mac people will be when Apple switches Macs to ARM chip. People I know who are primarily PC people for gaming and development that have Macs utilize bootcamp or Parallels to bridge the gap.

Much the same. I started in the 80's as well with BBS using CP/M and some C64. Then Fidonet and Compuserve. I loved Usenet before forums and eventually reddit took off. Although, Compuserve was my go to location for the chat and message forums as a developer. I thought it was a little expensive in the day but fortunately my work paid for it.

I am a big fan of Stardock and their games. Loved and played the crap out of GC2 as well as original version. Signed up as a founder for GC3 and certainly have loved it as well. Of course when GC3 game out it was seen as a subset of GC2 as far as game features/mechanics. I do not disagree with that but I knew the rest would come. Anyway, now that we have what many have said will be the last DLC for GC3 I am curious what others thoughts are when co

So I have been away from GalCiv for quite some time. Nothing against the game, just life, work, etc. Anyway, after it updated and such I started a new game and it seems a lot has changed, I mean a lot. Gates, artifacts, other stuff Not saying anything is bad but I am completely lost. Any docs, vids or whatever to catch up with?

I have a three monitor configuration and the game loads fine. However, I want to run it in windowed mode at 1980x1080 and I set it as such. Then I go back to menu and exit the game and restart. It still runs fullscreen What am I doing wrong? thanks

Little slow going at first, still looking for parts of the ship. Took me awhile before I realized I could try and control the landing on the more difficult planets (faceplate!)

Okay, so I honestly have not been looking forward to this game. No offense but I am a GalCiv guy (when I get to play games at all these days). I even was a founder there. I am an “old” gamer but surprisingly never played any of the Star Control games which is odd given that sci-fi is my thing, go figure. Anyway, having watched the development of these game from a distance and most recently all these posts from Brad selling it I have decided that I am go

Still hoping for insight here. Current game I have resigned. finally killed pirate queen. Created two commonwealths at game recommendation. Not knowing what it really did I left myself only Earth and Mar to manage. Seems commonwealths are like Stellaris' sectors. Still would like to have more information on these things. Anyway, crisis came along (the universe is a computer similation) and it resulted in Earth being destroyed and my capital moved to Mar

Just started playing last night and like it so far. I did have a question or two. First, I own all the expansions, DLC etc. But play without Mercenaries as for me they seem to be too disruptive. Do I miss anything new by not playing with Mercs on? Where can I find out more about commonwealths as to what they are, pro and cons, how and when to form them? As I understand I earn more money based upon number of tiles I "own". Is this automatic or is

Dell 5520 Laptop (near 4k I guess) but running in a window set to 2560x1600, UI size set to Large. As you correctly stated, if I change the UI size to Medium from Large then it works appropriately. Since this has been a bug for awhile then I guess this thread can be safely ignored. thanks for the help though.
