As was discussed earlier on, we wound up data-driving most of the stuff via XML. We plan to separate things back out into Python as time goes on.

Please open your debug.err file in notepad, and copy/paste the contents into a post here. This will give us some technical information that can help troubleshoot your problem. The file can be found in My Documents\My Games\Elemental Be sure to copy the debug immediately after the error occurs; if you start the game again, the debug log will be erased and recreated for the new session.
Please link the full debug files via pastebin.ca (those who only posted one turn) so we can see the progression of memory usage through the course of the game.
Try going to the location you installed the game at and running the exe directly. If you're getting nothing at all, it might just be the launcher.
Yes, you need to have defenders in your city. Usually an NPC will pop up noting how your city is ripe for the taking if you leave it empty from the start.
I don't believe there ever was one, though you should be able to force it through your drivers' control panel.
Try installing this update from Microsoft.
They're in My documents\My games\Elemental. The game starts writing a new one every time you start it, so there will always be one there from the last session.
It should change the strength of the bloom effect. Also the enable is separate from the strength, so make sure that it's actually turned on :)
Campaign saves are stored separately from sandbox saves. You can load them from the campaign screen.
The beta keys were disabled last week but they were all re-enabled last night. If you still can't download the game, please contact .
Keybinds can't be changed, but you can rotate via keyboard using Ctrl+arrow keys, AFAIK.
If any of these crashes created zip files in C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic , please upload them to a hosting site and link them here.
As your debug.err ends with a video error and your drivers are from 2008, please update to the current ones for your system from nVidia's website.
I am having this same issue, "clip cursor to screen" does not fix it. actualy, the only way i can scroll with the mouse-to-edge is up, all three other directions are broken. also, i get a bug when i launch the game where the cursor is stuck on the far left of the screen and i have to alt tab out and back in to fix it.
Just a guess here, but do you have your taskbar set to a non-default screen edge?
Everyone who is seeing this, please open your debug.err file in notepad, and upload/link the contents into a post here. This will give us some technical information that can help us narrow down common factors causing this. The file can be found in My Documents\My Games\Elemental
If you use a download manager with resume, you can download the game through your browser via Impulse Anywhere (or just download it normally at your friend's house through same). Making archives off your friend's installed copy isn't liable to work since he may have a different version of windows and will be using a different Impulse account.
If you have a newer ATI video card, this is a known issue that cropped up again at the last minute after fixing another ATI issue. We've already got people working to sort it ASAP, but in the meanwhile you can run in windowed mode (at your desktop res it will look just like fullscreen but without edge scrolling) to avoid it. If you have an nVidia card, please post your debug.err file. The issue should not be present there.
I don't have an ATI card... I have an nVIDIA card. If it happens again, I'll do a full bug report.
Please do. We've been unable to reproduce alt-tab crashes on any nVidia cards we have any longer so for any cases of that happening we need all the info we can get.
when I tried on my work PC it said the update was available but just removed the beta version.
Is it giving you any errors? If not, please contact about this.
What do unmodified arrow keys do?
AFAIK they move units (at user request).
Did you also clear out beta files from C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic\Screens?
The final game should now be available on Impulse for immediate purchase and download.
