Try toggling the smart colors option in the game's settings.

Check if you have any units on autoexplore or long paths that are stuck (boats in particular). This is generally the cause of stuck turns.

Known issue. In the meanwhile, you should be able to click the buttons using the top-left leg of the X as a pointer or using the hardware mouse setting in the options.
