Well, since it turned out that AI can't access it's XML tags in this update , I don't think additional information with 1.19 will be useful. Next version, though, is a different thing.

[e digicons]k1[/e] I think the "not grabbing goodie huts" may be due to the new AI behavior that makes them be more careful with sov and spouse. But if they don't leave home, they won't hire any other champions to grab goodie huts either.

Looks like the AI may be getting a bottleneck with certain resources because it's spending them in unnecessary stuff.

This would really be nice to have. One of those small things that mean a lot in the overall "polished" feel of the game. Can this be hard to implement? I would think not, just change a couple of signs from plus to minus and the other way according to which flags are set. But of course the devil is in the details..

Anything we can do to reduce the amount of work required to fix an issue makes the fixing more likely to happen. We can do this best by providing screenshots, savegames and fix suggestions. For anyone else having this problem, I was able to get past the error by simply pressing 'esc' on my keyboard. It bypasses the screen and you get to play the game.

I had the same problem with being "unable to load data file". Disabling firewall didn't help. However, you can get past it. Don't click ok, press 'esc'. Seriously. It bypasses the screen and you get to play the game.

Added a lot of good observations from Sythion. Most critical areas where improvement is currently being demanded are: Strategic AI: Champions. AI should value them higher in the beginning of the game and be able to equip them. Tactical AI: Maneuvering. AI should not simply rush at a single predetermined target. They should seek first-strike advantage and shift targets according to the situation. Probably on a unit by unit basis, not every unit against the same enemy.</

I'll second Tydorius on his proposal. The unit cohesion thing sounds like realistic, but not much fun while it adds complexity. For another game it sounds good, but not for this one.

Out of curiosity, is the new version going to include work for the strategic AI? Also, while Frogboy was testing the AI during Christmas holidays, he mentioned that a bug where an AI faction never built even their first city wasn't an AI bug, but instead a map bug. A farm was situated within a swamp or something similar. Given that this bug was recognized by Frogboy, is it being fixed?
