Still, I think there really should be several different projects available: Military: - +1 defence in system - +1 offence in system - Wealth (+10% economy) - Research (+10% research) - Entertainment (+10% morale) - Media (+5% culture) Maybe there could be a minimum number of turns, so that their effectiveness would be decreased?

Here is a short tutorial that I wrote: http://cdgroup.org/forums/tbs/gc/viewtopic.php?t=94
I have a serious problem with the military/social production. Especially in the later stages of the game my military is strong and the only thing left to build is social projects. And many social projects are quite useless and just cost money, too, because my morale is at 100%. So I only research to be able to build in those stars. So whenever I don't know what to build militarily (which is the case as soon as I have defences everywhere and every habitable star system is taken,
Yea, come in, it's a fun community (not only for GalCiv)! :D
- The possibility to play more than just humans. - More races (and don't make them all look humanoid! The great predecessor game Ascendancy was much more imaginative in its races...)
It seems like size does matter score-wise, but challenge-wise, it does not. It is as easy (or difficult) to finish a game on gigantic and tiny maps - it just takes longer on a large map. So I would not penalize those with little time at hand by giving them lower scores. Scores should be generated in relation to the galaxy size, everything else is unfair.
My greatest concern is that galaxy size determines the scope of your score. This should not be. Playing on a large galaxy is not more difficult than playing on a small one!
If a starbase is in a sector without any planets, will the bonuses that count for "nearby planets" also count for planets outside the sector? What is the definition of "nearby"? ~SDC~
In the city screen I would like to see a mini-map that show's the galaxy's location. I someitmes forget where the galaxy is, and when something's finished at the beginning of a turn, I have no idea where I'm zooming into. Auto-explore setting for ALL units, not only scouts. Maybe an "auto-protect" command for units. They would follow a freighter, for example, and auto-attack all enemy units en route. ~SDC~
Is there any explanation anywhere how scoring actually works? Do scores differ according to map size? I mean, they shouldn't - playing on a large map is not more difficult, it just takes longer. ~SDC~
Okay, I added another score. I played on "suicidal" difficulty on 8x8 and achieved a cultural win. Why the hell do I only get 122 metaverse points, whereas others get into the thousands?!?!? What am I doing wrong? I mean, I really RULED the galaxy, and only one civilization was left that I had not conquered. Does cultural victory give less points than other victories? ~SDC~
