Yeah, cool for one planet. Otherwise, it's rather boring and unmemorable.
The same goes for the three planets that stardock relesed Hunam, so your point is realy moot. Of course it is only memrable as a single planet. That is exactly what the picture is of? What are you trying to acomplish with that statement? A solar systum of, as you admited, cool planets would be remarkable and not mundane while still being non car
And the feedback is very much welcomed. I'm just pointing out that the HD screen you did post is very mundane and unoriginal. To be critical on a few points, The orbit lines are very thin, because of that you lose them very quickly. The blue lines are completely lost because of the blue nebula background as a result the gas giant's positioning appears distorted. The lighti

This may seem off topic, but its not. Will there still be winning ditys? Unique music played when a ship wins a fight? This is a part of what made starcon2 combat great! My 3 favorite winning dittys- Androsynth: http://www.sa-matra.net/sounds/starcontrol/Androsynth-Ditty.mp3 Chmmer: http://www.sa-matra.net/sounds/starcontrol/Chmmr-Ditty2.mp3 Melnorme: http://www.sa-matra.net/sounds/starcontrol/Melnorme-Ditty.mp3 (I prefer the Precursors remix of these of course,

From the arguments I have seen so far there are two main ideologies. On for each group. From the pro-cartony planets I hear this: Quoting Vaelzad, reply 10 We want to push it just a tad more to make them even more unique, and brake the traditional round planet paradigm even more. We also want the player to know wha

IE Casual: No timed quests, less combat encounters, more peaceful encounters, less harsh planet environments. More resources from combat, cheaper parts, crew, fuel, etc etc. Standard: Some timed quests with verbose warnings, average combat encounters, standard planet environments. Standard resources and costs. Hardcore: Random timed quests without warning, lots of combat encounters in hostile territory, harsh planet environ

From what I see here there is mixed feelings btw timed and non timed experiences. Why not have multiple levels of difficulty? On easy there would be no time limet, on hard there would be. That way we can hit those who enjoy a slower, laird back experience, and those who love the thrill of have to finish quests before the doom timer reaches 0. This is just an idea. Feedback would be immensely helpful.

While what you say is true... I find it incredibly sad. How can we call it star control without any elements of the story line that truly made star control great! Lets be honest here, I dont know about you guys but I played star control 2 not for its graphics, or it's music, but for its story. Fred and Paul have owned these rights for YEARS and no (good) sequels have been made. If there was ever a chance for a continuation of the star control story IT IS NOW. I have a sinking feeling that
We plan, under your NDA, to start putting up the new tracks for your review and input. [e digicons]:)[/e]
Sweet! How soon do you plan to do this? Are you composing the music yet? Who are your composers?

Music is an essential part of what made SC2 great! (And of course all hail the precursors who remixed all of the music in it and made it epic) What composers do you have yet (if any) on making the music? When do we get to hear some? (If I may make a suggestion, talk to the precursors, they did such a good job remixing the music to SC2 while still remaining true to the original sound, Check some of it out here: http://www.medievalfuture.com/precursors/main.php)

"Happy days and jubilation!"- Fwiffo Happy to be here! Took me a bit to scrounge up the founds and the guts to purchase the lifetime founders edition, and I hope that the investment will pay off. Been playing starcon since I was 10 years old, and I am still playing. Greatest game in the history of existence! Quick question though, In the email it states that Star Control prototype builds and tools are coming in W
Right now, the plan is PC, Mac and probably Linux support.
Remember AntiSol, Thire is always the wine programs loader wich can run just about any windows program, with direct x compatablity. So even if they dont support it on lunix, you can always wip out your trusty Wine EXE runner.
