Question, will melee be seamless as well? I mean in the original star control, when you encountered a ship in a system, it would engage a separate screen were you would chose to fight or talk. Will that be preserved? Or will we be able to fire on them right from the get-go, while we are still in exploring mode? And oh, if you want to listen to the ogg files, just download this, it should fix your problem (if your running windows that is): http://www.vorbis.c

I don't know about you guys, but I like to play games were risk is real and you CAN lose. I honestly don't get why "everyone's a winner" games are enjoyable. I like to bowl without the gutter rails, I like to watch a sports game were my team has a very real risk of LOSING. In order to win you have to outsmart your enemy, out gun them, out diploma them, etc. If all my choices lead to a win, why strategize? Why outsmart the enemy? Why not chose stuff at random? The point I am attemp

One of my most favorit factors of SC2 was the flagship. The ability to upgrade it through trading with the Melnorme gaining new capabilities was awesome. It was so much fun when it was fully upgraded to go and fight vux, and just blast them out of the sky. Sure it was OP, but in order to get to that point, you had to gather loads of bio units, and in the end it wasn't until the end that I got my ship up to battle specs. Another thing, SCR should have a lot of unique decisions that

I think you posted the wrong link hunam. The link you gave only took me to the voting results. Here is the corrected link to humans poll (I simply removed the /r :)): http://strawpoll.me/6292325/ I would suggest voting on this poll. It would be a great idea to see whether or not the majority or minority of founders dislike or like the art direction.

Might have very high reward! Perhaps both!
Sounds awesome! But those should be the exception, not the rule.

Here is an idea regarding planets and the scanning thereof. I definitely agree that extremely exaggerated features should not be viewed from space. That aside, it doesn't mean that the world is boring or featureless, quite the opposite actually. The world can be incredibly diverse and beautiful, some with thick atmospheres, mountains, lakes spires, and a whole bunch of exiting and sometimes exaggerated features, but in order to see them fully the player must initiate a scan. I must agree with you wholeheartedly. That was most definitely the best factor in star control 2. I must say though, never until you put it that way did I fully realize that the feeling of being utterly alone and benign to the rest of existence was such a large part of what made the game great. Even with your old friends, Yehat, Syreen, ect. You had to work for it to get anything, and half of the time, with the Yehat you would end up fighting them! It was crazy! And it was pure genius! I hope
In 1999 I had a conversation with someone about how I believed that Team Fortress could remain a popular game for 20 years or more... because of it's "artsy" like cartoonish graphic look. I believed that look was timeless, like a buggs bunny cartoon, and that no matter how far graphics advanced, Team Fortress would still look good. History has proven me right on that one. I think it is this type of look they are tryin

Good points hunam and HenriHakl, I will stay my judgement until I see the finalized planets. Its just that I've never liked cartony planets, but maybe that's just me. Perhaps that will change when I see the further planet designs. I just don't know.

I hope a telekinetic race will be created. A race that can build spaceships would need some sort of object maniupulation, and with humanoid races being frowned on, I think that would be a good idea. Besides, it has possibilities for looking really cool.

REALLY think about it... there were clearly some ships that destroyed and others that were pretty much useless in the heat of battle. I mean... a Supox or a Shofixti or a Zoq Fot would never be able to take down an Urquan Dreadnaught or the CHMMR Avatar
