Didn't buy anything. Didn't see anything I was interested in. I already have so many games that I don't play that I purchased and was disappointed in them, then there were the massive bundles where I only wanted one or two games but the price for the bundle was cheaper than buying then separately, so I have way too many trash titles.

I am not sure at what point they start charging for each additional starbase, but in every game I have played I have seen it. Starts getting expensive after a while. I think in the latest game I am playing the cost id over 1600 for the last one I built.

In space empires they are only close to you at start. You can research the technology needed to survive and prosper on worlds that are hostile to your species, I never did understand the limiting of humans to only rock, since we are capable of having colonies on the poles and on the moon if we really want to support them, but I know it is a game balance mechanism. The same type of system could be employed here, I would think.

I thought that generally, galaxies had super massive black holes at their center, and it was more common to find a singular black hole or dual black hole in a galaxy, not multiples. I also heard that super massive black holes go through periods of active and quite. When quite, they are not sucking in anything unless it was unlucky enough to get within the event horizon (?), but when active, they start sucking in anything in their neighborhood, and not necessarily right next door.

Fascinating. I always believed if we actually made it into space as a united species, we would be much more like the Drengin than Star Trek's view of humanity. We have a much too violent past, and are way too efficient at exterminating opponents and weaker peoples. If we could do that to each other, why would we treat aliens any differently. As long as we have the technology, we will fight to control and be on top.

The question is why? If it automatically goes into standby, you will not be producing ships, constructors, freighters or transports. You may not realize you are not building for a looong time. This lets you know so you can start something else once your queue runs out. I am always building something. Only very late in the game do I start placing shipyards on idle.

Rally points should disappear as soon as the planet flips. I agree, if the base has other sponsors, it should not flip or disappear immediately. If it remains after a period of time, it ought to finally convert do to the massive wonderful influence of the planet below. [e digicons]*_*[/e] I mean, if the original owner doesn't see the need to move it, it evidently isn't needed all that much.
I don't see the big deal about star names, you have to mouse over them to see them, how distracting can it be? Scrolling through the list of approved names, I don't see any that irritate me.
I believe every planet around that star uses the star's name.

Well, you can build a second one, put them both together in a fleet and divide the log total of the fleet to get it. If you build a different type, add it to a fleet of know cost and note the change to get the cost for the new type of ship. I think each level basically uses the same across all types, small is 4, medium 6 and I think large is 8.

Actually, I wasn't talking about naming stars after people, I have no heartburn over that. I don't want to censor either, but you have to admit there are some pretty puerile names now. I can't remember some of the names, medication I am taking wreaks havoc with my short term memory, but I think one started with bang bang. And I am aware of what Blue-Oyster is referring to about historical names being changed because of sexual references. Those type of names don't bother me eit

Started a new game as humans vs all but the Iridium, largest size spiral galaxy. First time start-up was a little longer than previous, but nothing like other comments so far on the board, probably about a minute. Played with no problems at first, but the longer I played, the slower things got. I saved, exited, cleared the exe file from memory, and restarted. I guess what ever you guys put in to track your new versions continues to grab memory until you patch it so it cleans up aga

I seems to me, when you first start colonizing. you are not going to be able to build robotic factories in a new colony at the start. Given the premise of starting realistic, and within usable time frames, space travel, GC's future could come next year. we already have robotic factories, but we are not a unified race. Be glad GC doesn't model that nightmare for humanity. Establishing viable colonies in out near future would mean no robotic factories until regular factories have produc
