Isn't $59 for a year a bit much without knowing in advance what games are going to be coming out? Isn't GalCiv 2 more than a year away?

Actually, I like basegolf the best of the new games. Disciples II just isn't fun. You can only cast spells in the main map. The UI is confusing. If I want to have a unit stay in the same place for a few turns, I have to hit "guard" every single turn. Empires also isn't fun. The economics of the game don't make much sense, nor do most of the special buildings and items on the map. Food management for troops away from my base is a

I think you must be Santorum That sounds like a good custom issue. "President Bush opposes santorum." What would the graphic look like?

The reason I like the two party system is that a crazy guy can't slip into office with 20% of the vote, like when Hitler did it. Actually, that isn't a defect of the two party system. It's a defect of "you only get to vote for your favorite candidate". If a voting system such as "instant runoff votin

It crashed on me when I tried running it. At the "candidate seleciton" screen, the word "loading..." doesn't turn into "start game" and my PC froze. I'm going to uninstall/fresh reinstall. (I had to do that in the last version also, after the "delete graphics file" fix didn't work for me.)

For political capital, you shouldn't be able to just raise all your political capital from the same state. If I'm really leading in a state, maybe I should get more than one point. If I'm losing in a state, I may get nothing. Should raising political capital have a cost besides stamina (such as lost awareness or standings in the polls)?

If you were really going to do it as a campaign, you should have the player first winning a seat in the local school board, then on the city council, then for mayor, then for state legislature, then governor, then president. I don't know if your code is flexible enough to accomodate that.

I think that one way to make the issues matter more is to allow multiple issues to be represented in the same campaign speech or ad Either that, or more stamina per turn is needed. Maybe allow 2-3 extra issues for each extra stamina point spent.

I think that at "Cakewalk" difficulty, you should give the player IN ADVANCE the exact effect of each of their actions. For example, at the fundraising screen, it should say "Fundraising in California will net you $205k." At harder difficulties, you can be a bit more stingy with information (and randomize the effects somewhat). Also, during the interview screen, you should get to see the polling information for the state. (so you aren't forc

Why does the "More Jobs" campaign speech feature a picture of a gun? Is this some sort of deep political statement, or a bug? Where is my stamina going? I notice that my stamina per turn decreases over the course of a game, with no comment or warning. For "Polical Capital", I think you should accumulate a certain amount over time, just by doing good things. What can I do with the fractional stamina left over at the end of t

Better Feedback following TV shows, letting you know how your constituents felt of your answers. I'd like to see better feedback in almost all situations. At the easiest difficulties, the player should get the benefit of knowing the effect of his actions in advance.

Speaking of HQ, there really needs to be an adjustment by state wealth. Should a HQ in Delaware and California both bring in $10,000 and cost $250,000? It feels ridiculous to be building an HQ in all the small states for the +$10,000 bonus.

It was a bit of a disappointment, considering how much hype came before the release. I posted this on the GalCiv board (while this board was down!). Overall analysis: The current beta isn't playable. I'm going to wait a month or two and play it again. I'd give the game a "nice try". It looks like it'll be a decent game when it's done. Let us know when it's actually playable. Clicking on "Options" ends my game. There's no way
