Do people really want to put their bowmen on overwatch? Or crunch action action points to maximize the efficacy of sword blows?
X-Com combat is not designed for a fights in the open, without any cover. So it's pointless to use that system. I think a better candidate is a wargame Fan
Can't friends just bring their notebooks and play a LAN game?
Unconventional way to research and to grow your empire :) That's certainly interesting. Multiplayer team games have a potential to be very fun, if it will be balanced right.
3rd time, hero with attack 6 defence 26 or something like that. How i'm supposed to win against that monster? I bet it costs 1500+ gold to hire, and i have only 26 gold/turn income And AI had at least 8 more heroes roaming around. Does it hire heroes for free?
I don't get how AI gets so many heroes. Like, at the very start of the game (maybe turn 25 or so) it has a stack with 3 heroes - 15 HP 10 attack (combat rating 45), 26 HP 6 attack 7 defence (combat rating 25), 21 Hp 0 attack 5 defence. For comparision, i can hire a hero with 20 HP 8 Attack 19 defence for 19 defence (combat rating 34) for 1352 gold, and that's with one charisma book. It will take a loooong time until i'll be able to make even 1350 gold. Should i always pick sovereign w

Nah i was the strongest Future start player in Civilization 4 international multiplayer ladder for a while http://www.civplayers.com (though that was several years ago) Sure, i invented some tricks and found the better way to grow an economy faster. But my biggest advantage was that i was able to control more workers than others with the same time limit per turn. I'm a former Starcraft player so i out-microed pu
If starcraft was such a complicated game, why would players want to INCREASE the micromanagement aspect? It's laughable when people say the split-second decisions starcraft players make are "strategic". Pulling vultures back and then telling them to fire, then pulling back, etc is not strategic. It's an arcade. Same with building 1 marine in 5 different factories instead of having an AUTO-BUILD function.
Hmm, i have no idea. I didn't look at it.
Multiplayer game, it crashes on load for me http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8029471/stuck_sovereign.EleSav But that's a save after it was stuck, not before. It seems like it happens in multiplayer games only.
I lost a Sovereign when i attacked the enemy stack with several heroes in it. So maybe his death is just a random thing.
Something like an XCom game but in a magical world.
Do you plan to add support for a 3rd-party tournaments to Impulse:Reactor? Example: Clan Championship Cup for Civ 3/4 http://forum.civplayers.com/index.php?board=3.0 http://forum.civplayers.com/index.php?board=98.0 It will be very helpful if it will be possible to have a tournament tools like an ability to view/create/randomize a tournament bracket, automatically create tournament games for players to join, automatically count results of the tournament matches etc. <div id="_mceP
Deleted both Elemental folders in "Documents and Settings" and reinstalled Elemental, no change, bug is still there
I uninstalled 1Z, but i didn't delete any other folders. Should i? It should be stickied if it's a required action so to test the game...
When i ordered a city to be built, Sovereign didn't automatically move out of the city, he just lost all remaining moves (he should have had 3 moves). After that, Sovereign completely stuck in that city. Even if i order him to move somewhere or attack something, he loses either 1 moves or all 4 moves and stays on the same plot where is the city. However, he's not in the city either, he's not shown in a list of units defending the city when i select a city. Also, there is an annoying i
It seems that i get the wrong Sovereign when i pick a non-default Faction
When a game already in progress -> quit to main menu -> pick "multiplayer" -> game prompts for a Faction. "Back" button doesn't work, game crashes when i press "Next".
"Organized" trait doesn't work (units should move at the sovereign's speed, they don't) "Naturalist" trait doesn't work (no mine at the starting position) When i pick Lord Markin, i get Lady Procipinee, and when i pick Lady Iraine, i get Lord Markin. (seems to happen when i pick a non-default Faction)
I'm not entirely clear on what you're asking. What I meant was that you open the public folder, select a file in it, right click on that file, and then you'll have the option to copy the public link.
The only problem is that there is no such option. I wish devs will give a better guide... So far i can't upload a crash report. Also, debug.err doesn't exist either.

Unfortunately some of the best I've found (so far) are compilations of articles (their abstracts sound great, but without reading the articles it's impossible to know if there's any/much meat in them) -- http://www.aiwisdom.com/ -- or is subscription-based -- http://fear.sourceforge.net/ I did find an interesting article http:
Thanks for the reply. I'm aware that the engine is by far the most time consuming but gameplay is by far the most important (IMO anyway). Don't companies like Blizzard spend huge amounts of time on balance and polish? That's the impression I get but I have never actually been in one of their betas.
And then they balance it with patches. Yet, Starcraft become what it is now (the most balanced RTS) only after
No you really wouldn't need source code access. Per Frogboy the battle engine is real-time, with the game "Pausing" between turns. Kumquat actually seems perfect for a mod like this because it supposedly offers the freedom to do stuff like this.
I doubt Elemental will support "balls" in a tactical battle. You must write a new AI for it for sure. So, you can't make such a mod by changing some XML files only.
