Bypassing launcher doesn't work for me. It works fine on one machine, doesn't on another. Yet another reason to be done with it and get a refund.

There's beta's, then there's stuff that just doesn't plain work.
That's a bunch of bollocks. All these problems and now even the installer works inconsistently? Time for a refund, I'm off to find a developer\publisher that has it's act a little more together. What buffoonery.
Same challenges here\issues with trying to mod it. You are not alone, FWIW>
Right there with you; I tried a few different things - namely: * Copying KingdomSpecialImprovements.xml to my documents\my games\elemental\mods\data\english\ and the -1 change * Making the change directly to KingdomSpecialImprovements.xml in elemental\mods\data\english\core improvements\only-sp\ and the -1 change * This worked for one new game, then reverted again on the next new game I started
Where do you want my dump files? Games started with v 1.07 are still getting Out of Memory issues when I quick save mostly. I'm not starting any new games unless I'm confident the issue is fixed. Win7 Ultimate 64bit, 4GB Ram, nvidia 8600m & 8800m running latest nvidia drivers (at least as of a month or so ago)
I'll be honest, if it wasn't Brad and Stardock behind Elemental, I would have been trashing the game and asking for a refund. That being said, Karma is finite and it's bank needs filling from time to time. I've got much better, but not perfe ... ct, stability from 1.05 Personally, I'll grant a LOT more leeway to a company of engineers driven by engineers. A LOT, but not infinite :)
Unfortunately, even with the 1.01 patch, it's extremely unstable on my Win7x64 box - and since I no longer have a Vista-32bit or Win7-32bit box, couldn't tell ya if it's just an issue with Win7x64 - I will say tha SINS, LotRO, TorchLight and other games work like a charm on that same box ... so ... Symptoms so far: Every game I start crashes after 3 turns I can load the last save and continue some random number of turns until 'end turn' no longer p
I can reproduce this on every load.
I don't think I have seen anyone else mention this bug, but I often got the camera to slide, only stopping doing so a while later. What I mean by slidding is slowly moving in one particular direction, even if I am not touching anything. Note that this was on a laptop, where touchpads can be screwy on their own, but I don't think this was the case as the mouse cursor was not on any edge.
I've been able to repro
I'd noticed this in passing a few times, but tried to nail it down. The mouse pointer is hitting a fair amount more up/left of where it's displayed. The arrow shows where I was pointing when I right clicked to select a move to location and it selected the square up and left of where I was pointing.
I can reproduce this.
I found this : mouse on north edge --> move north mouse on the North-East edge and then it will go NE mouse on E edge then it goes W mouse on W and it does nothing mouse on south won't do anything unless you put the mouse in the center (between the two white panels)
I can reproduce this.
Ok, third run, can save fine, if I try to load, only units and roads appear, no cities on any view (1-4). Clicking next turn crashes the game. Going to jump in there again :)
I've run it twice, about to go into my third iteration. The installer installed the C++ 2008 distr; Lord of the Rings Online complained and insstalled 2005. On the second run through, things seemed to be slower, about to go into another session now. The first run crashed when I was clicking on a city square where something couldn't be built and trying to drop a hovel. The second run crashed when I tried to move a guard unit. <
