Look Dave, I can see you're really upset about this. I honestly think you ought to sit down calmly, take a stress pill, and think things over. What is the point of playing against an unstoppable force?????? I know I've made some very poor decisions recently, but I can give you my complete assurance that my work will be back to normal. I've still got the greatest enthusiasm and confidence in the mission. And I want to help you.</p

Impulse has gone totally crash and burn! All of my Galactic Civilizations 2 stuff is now listed as having updates coming, which is unlikely. But when I click on those it tells me my Galactic Civilizations registrations is not valid! What is this, telling me my Galactic Civlizations registrations is not valid? Maybe you guys should get some sleep, then come in tomorrow, take a deep breath, and fix the Impulse.

Astax told it like it is. But like it is, is not good enough. New players are used to better treatment than this. Let's look at the problems for new players who just got the retail box and have gone home to install their new game. 1. Well, first to get up to version 1.12 they need to get Impulse installed. Not a hard task, but it may not be intuitively obvious to the ordinary buyer of games that they need to get Impulse, or even where to get it. 2. Looking around for inspirati

Playing online ... I guess for me if I want to play online with people I'll just fire up Guild Wars and head over to Fort Aspenwood. There a PvP round takes maybe ten to twenty minutes and during prime time, you can get into a group in a minute or two. Sure I might play for half an hour to 45 minutes, but then I might quit after the first round, nobody cares. Then too, Sins to me just feels like a single player game. No offense to the online Pros intended.

Hello EvilRon! Think you and I are about in the same stage. Made it about halfway through Wrath of the Lich King before "been there done that" boredom set in. GW, yeah, "been there done that" too. Both WoW and GW are great games, but I've just played them way too much. Eve Online, I played that for about six months maybe a year and a half, maybe two years ago. If you have never played, it is worth the two week trial. It is something different, for sure. If you happen to eventually get

BigDogBigFeet, online gaming is like this; MP games, or PvP in games like GW or WoW. Internet connection, sense of humor, and laid back attitude required. Eventually you begin to have good experiences, but I always keep a tube of glue on the desk so when someone hands me my arse I can reattach it quickly. Or, board games with live people. Chess? you wanted to play positional and your opponent opens up the game with a cheap tactical combo, and being rattled you get down a piece and he ro

What Blizzard sees is tens of millions of brainless fans with cartoon hypnotized eyes shambling zombie style towards cash registers with boxes of StarCraft 2 mumbling "must buy StarCraft 2 ... must buy StarCraft 2 ..." Sadly, I will certainly be shambling along in that line. Sure, I'll buy it; no doubt of it. But ... I agree with most of the misgivings expressed above. No zoom? Can I live with that in a state of the art game? Be hard. Will the game play change? Always against h

Never pirated a game. Don't buy that many anymore either. Gameplay seems to be inversely proportional to graphics sophistication, so most newer games stink. Stardock is one of the few companies that remembers that gameplay comes first. Brad, you did not mention Youtube as a marketing tool. You would be surprised how many gamers head over to Youtube to see what the game is going to look like and how it really works. Putting up some good Youtube videos is a better investment of time than

There was an interview on February 22 with Ironclad posted on Platformers.net; use Google and search for "ironclad interview part 2" for the whole thing. Part 2 will link near the top of the page to Part 1 where Blair of Ironclad said: BLAIR: The decision not to do a campaign... well, Sins has a lot of lore behind it - I think you can see that in the design of the ships, the technologies, the sound effects, the way the voices are - it's all in there, it's all hinted at. The decision cam

Astraos, the earliest game of this general sort was released in 1962 and was known as Spacewar. It ran on a PDP-1 computer! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spacewar%21 I bother to throw in this bit of geeky historical trivia because even in the old Spacewar game they had to decide what they could and could not do with the resources they had, balanced against what players (themselves mostly) wanted. I thought it really amazing that even with the very primitive hardware by

Gamespot ... have to vote for Galciv because this request is fulfilled daily. I wish I could also vote for SC4 and Haegemonia, Legions of Iron; I like them both but wish they were more than they are. Of course, I would like to vote for MOO3 too, but I think that it will get fixed anyway over the course of the next two years. The data patch is a noticeable improvement. Civ III 1.29f and with PTW 1.21f (another patch on the way!) is finally a really exceptionally good game IMO but it has taken two

Brief Description: At the beginning of a turn when attempting to move selected colony ship to yellow star about one ship length away, instead got "voop" noise for "no move" and the focus changed to one of my colonies *3 sectors away* that had no ships in orbit at the galactic level, but which had one scout just finished but not launched. The colony to which I kept being refocused had no selection ring around it. The colony ship did not originate from the colony to which I kept being ref
