Instead of removing a character (by cutscene) in the end of chapter 4, the game have doubled my characters. They are fully and independently functional and have the same name. However their portraits are missing both in strategic map and in tactical maps. Here is the example of the tactical battle finished.
Click on the mana display on the top of the screen. It will show you a list of enchantments. Also can be accessed from the Kingdom Report.
I do not see it there. There are only city spells, I do not see unit's spells in kindom report. I am sure that the spell is cast because it says so in my spellbook (i.e. I can not cast second time because the "spell is active") but I can't find anyway to stop it, or even
I cast in campaign some strategic spell that allows unit to obtain healing ability. The result is shown in the figure. The same description is in the tactical view. And it does not work at all, that it there is animation as if she heals, but nothing happens. But the way, how can I REMOVE strategic spells from the unit (to save mana)
I honestly think that Warlock - Master of the Arcane is better. It actually achieves what this game was trying to do - interesting combat, the impression that group of heroes goes as company and fights against all odds, and so on. And this is just the game that nearly identical to this one (RPG/Strategy hybrid with magic elements). But also this year we had (what I have on my PC) Guild Wars 2, Diablo III, Torchlight II, and probably some FPS which I do not play. Hones
I wanted to SCREAM first 15 minutes of the video YOU HAVE ZERO ATTACK - EQUIP WEAPON. No wonder he loses. And this is guy who played beta? But also the game somehow should notify you when you try to attack with 0 attack. Or, it simply should not let you attack, giving the only option to pass the turn for that unit.
Really? It is a good game but "game of the year"? What makes you so impressed?
I had the same problem, finally I went to stardock.com and downloaded it there through http. I suspect stardock central uses some protocol which is prone to mistakes in large files (it could be ftp based). I am saying it, because I have the same problem when I use ftp services on very large files. This is repeatable on two computers through my router (desktop and laptop). Funny thing, if I connect through wifi, there is no such problem, only I have problem if I connect through physical w
May be they should not be battle creatures at all, but instead strategic map creatures? Would it be nice if they could stay in the city instead of hero and give it all hero bonuses to city (if hero has them).
I still do not think that this differentiate units enough. Play HOMM, or Armored princes. Units have TONS of interesting abilities. The added "chance to make second attack on miss" is really, really weak improvement, it is just slight buff of the weapon, no much game mechanics has changed. Good direction, but just a baby step.
I have not been around for some time, so I have a question. When pinier was about to settle, one could see that each tile has some properties (I do not remember what are those, food and manufacturing?). So, it looks very Civilization-ish. However, I do not see people working tiles or tile improvements as in Civilization. So can someone explain mechanics behind those?
At first I was like "where are all elemental post go"? Duh!
In the meantime, you should assume that FE is horrible and will give you cancer if you play it and harm pets.
Yes, please, take all the time you need to make it to give only mild flu. Do not rush it as you did the first game. Do not over-hype it for yourself PLEASE! If you are not critical of it - it will not be good. And make sure that achievement hats have good variety.
Derek hired a few of us from the boards to start play testing about a week ago. It's been kind of a secret, but he's going to be making an announcement about it later today or tomorrow. At first, I was a little surprised by the transition to First Person from WoM. But, I continued to play and really love it. Although still very buggy, and some of the commands don't work, it's a pretty cool game. I know
OK, found how to demolish buildings. I demolished a monastery and my pop usage went from 485 to 335. 150 population points! In the listing it said this should have cost 30 population points. I'll try demolishing a few other buildings and see if any others have the same sort of issue. Found a couple of others... Inns and Merchants are both supposed to be 10 population cost but are 50.
I
Reading the review I want to try this game again. I could not "get" into it, did not feel it is as fun as GalCiv2 and even Civ 5 was better. May be it is time to try it again. As for post above me by Solymer89 , I like the idea of Diablo/Elemental hybrid. That would be fantastic! It always bothers me that in Diablo style games, the stuff you do for character developmen
Quoting Lord Xia, reply 23Just to play devils advocate. This doesn't actually answer whether or not that Stardock games will be on STEAM. Games can be on both STEAM and impulse. And just to mix it up a bit more, maybe there's something else to throw into the mix.
Stardock Central? I actually liked that platform, even more than Impulse. It had true indie fee
Now that Gamestop is the owner of the Impulse, I kind of lost my interest of having my games on it (I just do not believe that DRM polices will be the same with Gamestop ownership). Do you have plans to move Elemental to STEAM and offer free registration for those who has it through digital purchase on Impulse? Sorry if this has been answered already...
Let's face it, Stardock is running out of letters. May be they should switch to Cyrillic? It has more letters...
It is just at this point, I wonder, if it is even smart for Stardock to spend resources on trying to improve the dead horse (I am a bit exaggerating here) and instead focus everything on expansion, which will be free anyway for most of the elemental players. Please Stardock, prove me wrong with patch 1.3! As I have understood it, Brad just thinks that people have the right to get a game that is fun for them, regardless of ha
There's nothing wrong with a little criticism but it's one thing to point out the areas which you feel are lacking (or ideas) and another entirely to simply bash the devs and game outright after so much has been given, apologised for and promised. And I do feel threads which are blatant attacks with little more than window-dressing "critiques" fall into the bashing crowd.
May be we are reading different posts (and I
Sure I can´t keep people from complaining. But equally I have the right to support the developers.
The thing is, I have not seen even a single post with "you, supporters, should stop posting here", and locking their threads, you see what I mean? But sure, I support Stardock too, especially, where it counts - I bought every Stardock related game (gal civs, all their expansions, sins, Demiogod, this game), an
I have not been on this forums for several weeks. I came back and made a post expressing pessimism about next patch, only as a counter for very optimistic post above me about next patch, and I just reacted on it because I really tired to see these unsubstantiated claims. The thread was locked, and Frogboy says that Elemental is not my cup of tea and I should look somewhere else (which is strange, considering that my favorite genre is 4X TBS, and my second favorite is fantasy based RPG). But w
I think with the changes planned in 1.3, WoM will be a fun game. I really don't think that the game really needs a lot to be "fun". It just needs to be more interesting and dynamic. And some balance. It looks like they are going to add things and make changes that will help that in 1.3. I might be blindly optimistic and biased, due to being Brad's baby mama, but I really think that 1.3 has the chance of being
Lets be honest, we will not see fun elemental game for very long time, if ever. I mean the game is out for already about half a year and it is not more fun than it was in the beginning, only more stable. Somehow SD missed the fun part. The game is only shadow of what was promised. The quests are boring. The world, the one that suppose to have history, is boring. There is very little to do in developing your kingdom. You just browse around and have random fights... The game mis
I think the only support that WoM will get is that it is based on the same engine (at least partially). So, any bug fixes in FE will propagate to WoM. But I do not expect things like balancing or gameplay changes in WoM.
