When defeating a champion there could be a chance to grab some of his equipment. Also some of the fallen champions equipment might be damaged/broken. A recovering champion should not be able to defend a town - or if he does and falls again should die for good. If he does not partake in the battle the victorious conqueror should have the option of killing/imprisoning the recovering champion(s).
To those who think MoM is less balanced: I recently played it again and I did not come across units that would deal 800 damage to all enemies surrounding it in one blow thus wiping out an entire army. Yes it has some really godlike heroes and powerfull units etc but all of that is also in FE...
0 - a lot less fun than MoM :-( I constantly quit games only a few turns in. There are always some Escaped Juggernauts or other high level creatures nearby. Eventually they will start to go on a rampage and there is nothing that can stop those guys early game. The deal high 3-figure, sometimes 4-figures worth of damage which seems way of. I thought about cheating and create a sovereign with a couple of thousand HP for balance but there would be no fun in that either. I think I
any chance that we see monsters treat all factions (player and NPC) equally? That and the rampaging Umberdroth early on really killed the game for me. (Played Warlock for way too long last night and am now paying the price for the doing "just one more turn"...)
Hello, yesterday I found myself on an unsolvable map: I was the only player on an island - it was not a tiny one so it took me a while to clear it and find out. But because there is no raise land spell (at least for my custom sov) and you can't have ships or flying units I could not make contact with any other factions. Victory by Spell of Making was also not possible because my island did not have a fire shard available... Regards, Markus
ah, I see. Now I feel kinda stupid... They could have kept the old way of building the stuff for us beta testers...
Hello, after upgrading to the release version I can no longer build farms or any other resource gathering building (mines, libarary, etc.). Needless to say that makes the game pretty much unplayable. I tried uninstalling and doing a fresh install but that did not help... Markus
After re-installing the game it looks and behaves slightly different: The fonts seem to have changed and now I no longer have the Elemental launcher that came with the Beta 4 upgrade. Unfortunately the out-of-memory error is still there after the re-install.
I also had an out of memory error. I cannot pinpoint what started it but maybe I can rule out a few things. In the game I did almost nothing in terms of units/battles/quests. There hasn't been a single tactical battle in the game. (so I would look for the problem elsewhere unless the AI is doing tactical battles with other AIs in the background) I got a free city a the start and founded two more. Then I only focused on growing these cities, building my economy and research. A couple of t
The only Stardock game I tried so far is Galciv 2 ToA. It complained about missing DirectX at startup but it ran just as well as it did on Vista.
Nah man, Al Gore invented the net.
Does that mean Apple invented it because Al is on their board? ;) So there must be some truth to Apple claiming to invent everything.
Where in the article does it say that Apple invented the dock? All they are saying is that Dell made Vista look at bit like OS X. Which is obvious when you look at the screenshots - nothing to argue about. I would recommend to just ignore those Mac zealots. Or do you also get upset everytime a PC zealot claims Microsoft have invented the internet? No wait, that must have been Stardock as well... ;)
Hello, I just purchased Supreme Ruler using my last TGN tokes but I can't download it through Impulse. It always gives a "error retrieving data" error. Network connectivity is not the problem - updates of Galciv2 downloaded just fine. Markus
I really like the new textures and its good that they use less memory. But it seems that this comes at the price of higher CPU requirements. I am playing on a 2 GHz Single Core (Pentium-M) and I experience sound/music stuttering quite frequently. My Gfx card is not cutting edge but I think a 7900GS should still do fine for GalCiv...
I also have the same issue: ERROR: Attemp:3 | Account Information invalid Result: Installation failed (9) Updating each item individually does not help. (Movies, Tutorials, Multimedia & DA will succeed but GC2 still fails to update...)
Sounds great, but the downside is that you have to keep the primary machine running to be able to use the secondary machine. But I often use just the secondary machine so I guess I am better off using my KVM-Switch and save on electricity...
You are using extremely old graphics drivers. Try to get new Catalyst drives for your card. This should fix the crashes. I think the English version also had troubles running with old drivers.
I wonder if they're using custom mouse cursors outside the game. No custom cursors here. I also saw it happening when I was just running Office but playing games seems to trigger the bug most frequently.
@Stardock I also saw this happening regularly (in early betas and the released version) This clearly is a NVidia bug but maybe you can put some "pressure" on them to get this finally fixed. It also occurs in Windows or in other games. For windows you can set "show pointer trails" to get an idea where the pointer is. (You might have to deactivate this and activate it again.) Unfortunately this does not seem to help for a
I have the latest drivers and have the problem Thanks wodin101. I'll keep the current drivers then since they work like a charm for Civ4.
I just noticed that there are new Nvidia drivers (81.94). One of the issues solved deals with a disappearing mouse pointer on Windows MCE. Has anyone already tried these to check whether they solve the problem?
After a few turns of playing the mouse pointer (icon) gets stuck. The mouse still works but it is hard to keep on playing when you don't see the real position of your mouse pointer. When I close Galciv2 I have the same problem in Windows. -> no visible mouse pointer. As a workaround I can activate 'Display pointer trails' in the control panel. This will not get the pointer back but the 'trails' are good enough. I'm using a GeForce
The mouse pointer got stuck when I tried to move it from the controls to the map area. The mouse appeared to work fine after but it is hard to continue playing when you don't see the pointer. I also had the "invalid call" crash when I tried to switch to other applications and back using Alt + Tab.
Of course I have checked the "show prerelease" checkbox. How could I have downloaded the first Beta if I didn't? I don't see the new beta but when I start SDCentral there is a popup asking me whether I want to upgrade GC2 to the latest version. When I choose 'yes' nothing happens.
