Can this game be played in windowed mode? If yes, can you point me in the right direction? Thanks

Just wondering, has there been any success addressing the issues regarding being able to launch the game, crashing to desktop, the distorted UI some users experience, etc? If so, can we expect a significant improvement in the next patch? My own experience is that I have not been able to launch or play the game on two different laptops.
Actually, rather than an embarrassment, for the designers this may be a heads-up that the mechanics of equipping items is less than intuitive
I just checked. It was already at 0.
For me, this is not the only interface issue. For example, all of the Options buttons and sliders do not exist. The only way I can adjust is via pref file. I personally have not been able to play the game as I continue to CTD. I was only able to even get in (sporadically) when I turned off the intro. But I experienced the above interface issues, flickering, etc. Is the mipmaps option something I can adjust in pref file? By the way, I have three laptop
Yep - same exact thing for me as well
So I was one of the people who could not launch game up till now as I would crash at splash screen. I updated today and still crashed at splash screen (or hung there which is new). I did all the normal things, uninstalled, redid drivers etc. I happened (unrelated to Elemental) to turn off my antivirus program Avast. Seems I am then able to launch. I tested this about 10 times back and forth so I do believe it is more than coincidence. (Unfortunately, on
Was wondering if the developers could provide some feedback on this issue. Mainly, was there anything in the recent patch that was designed to address not being able to get past title screen. I experienced the same crash after patch. (I ask for two reasons, one purely selfish in that I can't play game and would like to, but from a beta test point of view should we do another round of trying and submitting or just wait)
Deleting those two files also worked for me, meaning I was unable to get past title screen and into a game, now I can. However, once in the game, not sure things are right. Seem to be missing functionality that others have described (but I have not experienced obviously). Clearly, however, this seems to be a great step forward in identifying issue.
Thanks! I happen to fall into the category of people who cannot get past splash screen (on two different systems) so I was curious when to check back.
Any sense of how often a new build will be released? Daily? Weekly? that kind of thing.
Thanks. That helped. I concur - no error log
Yep - same issue for me - I created a thread as well but thought I would jump on board here as well.
I don't see one ... does anyone know where or what it would be called?
I downloaded and installed game fine. When I launch game I get the splash screen which pauses for about 4-6 seconds and then a flash and then dropped to the desktop. No game running to click back into. When you look at Impulse it says I played 7 times but in fact, never got to the game. I am assuming we should post dxdiag files in forum? Did we receive specific instructions? ------------------ System Information ------------------<b
Update: Yes, software is there. You need to select "Show Pre-Release Versions" under Preferences in Impulse. Edit: 647.43MB in case you are wondering (installed, down load 503.66MB)
Actually, I received serial # for Elemental and registered on Impulse but ... I do not see the game listed yet.
I just had a great experience with Impulse. I foolishly thought an expansion was stand-alone only to find out that I could not install after purchase as I lacked the base game. I sent customer service an email. They responded within a day indicating they would be more than willing to refunded my money. I ended up getting the refund and then I went back and for $5 more bought the complete package with original game. Very professional. &nbs
