I havent been able to repro this. For me if I click on the fireball scroll then right click to cancel I still have the scroll. I also dont have any problem having more than 3-4 items in combat. http://screencast.com/t/Zd8j6U8rs2Wi If anyone has a save where I can check this out or more specific steps to repro I'd love to see it.

Expansions should make the game better. If that is more mechanics or less mechanics or the same but changed mechanics doesn't matter to me as a designer. It just needs to be better (from a marketing perspective less mechanics is a challenge because no matter what the feature is there is always some people who preferred it), the goal is to make the game more fun. I have a code fix for this ready for the next patch. Let me know if anyone else is seeing this (if there are enough we may hot patch for this issue). You can fix it yourself by going into your advanced options and changing your contrast from 0 to 47 (you have 0 contrast, which is why everything is the same color).

A few comments. The Enchanted Backpack: You have no idea how close I was to making it provide +1 accessory slot (though it itself cost 1 accessory slot so the net effect was that it was pretty useless). I was going to inlcude a description on it for something like "Not nearly as useful as it appears.". It work's fine for me. I suspect that's a game you started with 0.85. In order to maintain backward compatibility the game save stores all the xml, so when we fix issues with xml your game started with prior versions won't get the fixes.

Your custom unit was made before the upgrade changes so its obsolete and doesn't know how to upgrade. I would reocmmend deleting your custom units.
