I wouldn't say "Steam only" - I for myself would probably buy it from everywhere else except an EA or an Epic store... So as long at is stays Epic only I continue playing GCIII if I need my fix of GalCiv. If it never comes out anywhere besides Epic, then I'll pass on this one. Personal choice... ;)

Same here (GC3 founder ready to support GC4) - was really looking forward to join the Alpha - but the Epic store is a no-go for me. Happy to throw money your way once it is available elsewhere.
I can't change the screen resolution in the demo (the list doesn't show any options at all). Running on a notebook with a GeForce 8600GT. Anybody else having this problem? Love the demo nonetheless...
I'm a little divided on the matter of a ship pack. Mostly it's Oblivions fault with that crappy idea of payable content (horse armor - bah), generally speaking I don't like the direction this could take in the long run. Pay for every extra tiny bit even if I already shelled out good money for the game itself? No way... I'd rather include the ship
Is it such an onerous task to get up, go to your computer and swap out a disc? I mean really, we're not talking about running a marathon here. And if you can't find the disc... what do you do when you can't find that steak knife? Or some other physical object you lost. Well, the problem I have with CD
First, did you noticed that no Stardock employees have written anything in this topic it just mean that stardock dont really care about the event they've got the link removed that's what they wanted in the first place. They're probably happy that it make publicity for their game, but they would have been happy even without the publicity the event made. <br
Argh, sorry for Doubleposting...
I just browsed the GameSpot Forums and the whole issue here also entered the "Please warn about StarForce in Reviews" thread. Hehe, SF really blew it this time!
I don't buy any PC game that contains CRAPFORCE, pardon, StarForce as a Copy Protection - and I never will. I would rather give up this hobby then becoming the slave of the copy protection industry. And if its true that SF posted liks to GC2 torrents, please Brad, sue them to oblivion!!!! The release scheme of GC2 and the policy "extra value for the customer" was one of the main reasons I preordered GC2, unfortunately a big part o
I had the same problems but luckily was able to transfer the required code to a computer and e-mail this off. While a pain in the *&* the answer was quick. I received the activation e-mail within the day and have been told that this is computer specific so the only time I will need to reactivate the game is if I transfer the game to another machine. Although I have not pat
Just finished the mission where the Dread Lords appear (newest GC2 version), but the video cutscene showing theit arrival didn't play... Anybody else having this problem?
Don't know if it has been mentioned already: If a fleet and a single ship occupy the same space I have no way (at least I found none) to disband the fleet without moving the single ship away. The Disband Fleet button doesn't come up as long as there's another ship in the same location.
I often got the message "Race X is paying tribute to Race Y for keeping the peace" but I didn't find any option to ask for (or give) a turn based tribute to another race? Is the game confusing me or did I miss an option?
A more accurate comparison would be between Disruptors III and Subspace Blaster III. My 'guess' would be the size of of SB III would be 4 or 3, allowing you to fit more weapons of that type on the vessel. Well, there are no Subspace Blasters III (or II), the next is the Doom Ray..
I just researched the complete Beam Weapon Tech tree and noticed that Subspace Blasters (which are researched after Disruptors) are weaker than the lower tech weapons? Disruptors III Size 5, Cost 70 Damage 8 Subspace Blaster Size 6 Cost 60, Damage 6 is that correct???
We're still trying to track what causes that. It hasn't happened on any of our machines and we keep trying to reproduce it. Bear with us, it's our #1 priority. I had the save game issue last night again as well. But the game wasn't unstable - I tried to make a quicksave and the game CTD'd frying the
but I think it should have just shown up as a sub-item of GC2 in SDC - like Tutorials/Movies/Multimedia - I was expecting to see "Collectors Edition Bonus Pack" or something - what happens if the bonus pack is updated? I was wondering the same thing as I just realized (reading this thread) that I still miss the bonus pack and the CE stuff. I ju
Transparency is key. Be open and honest with people and MOST people will respect that. Tell people what problems you think you have and what problems you think you don't have and let people decide for themselves. Don't try to "control" the flow of information. Stay ahead of the curve and make sure you are the one telling peopl
On the (moderately) positive side, I have a reproducible with a save game file that has been sent to [email protected] (Subject line "GalCiv II Crash - Corrupt game save reproducible") So, hopefully this will help you track down the corrupt saves problem. Ah, great - I was thinking about doing the same this evening. You beat me to it
Allow me to tune in here as I have a range related question as well (I think): What are "Life Support" extras for the ships for? Am I correct in the assumption that they extend the range a ship can travel from the nearest StarBase or planet? And I too would like the question from the first poster explained..
This is a job for Smart Exception. In Stardock Central there's a "Free stuff" section. Download and install and run Smart Exception. Next time this happens, post the contens of the crash file. Basically we just need the crash address and we can find what line of code it was. Does it happen in your save game? I..e is it reproduceable?
Ok, another "Problem": Game crashed to the desktop while playing (did nothing special, only pressed the TURN button). Seems that fried my Autosave-Game as the game now crashes everytime I load that savefile (so I lost abot half an hour playtime) - I'm not sure wether the game tried to make a new autosave (and crashed during that action consequently frying the save) or if it has other reasons. If you need the save file(
Had a strange Bug just now: 1) Tried to design a new starship 2) Pressed "Save Button" and nothing happened 3) When I click done I get the message "all changes will be lost" (or sth. like that) -> No Ship afterwards Tried this a few times then exited the Shipyard dialogue, suddenly a box poped up with the name of my former starship creation (no further text or pic, though). After I clicked ok the game crashed to the desk
Thanks - off to play it now as well!
Same here! YEAH!!!
