I did check it and the info isn't there. Should be relatively easy to add.

During battle when I want o cast spells, I would like to be able to see what damage I can do with spells that add extra damage per shard. Now I'm thinking "did I own that fireshard or was it an earthshard again?" It would really help if the spell description would automatically adjust itself to the # of shards I own of the needed type. Or that I would be able to see the shards I own somewhere on screen during tactical battles.
After a long time playing I just had my first crash trying to reconquer a city. Attack was succesful... and then it crashed. Zip-file is here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17682980/FallenEnchantress0_75-2012-01-21T16-25-44-454.zip Debugg.err: http://pastebin.com/YwzNWPVy
I agree, maul in its current state is over the top. Either limiting the amount of attacks to 3 or ladd a negative modifier with each extra attack should fix this.
That MoM intro almost brought a tear to my eye. Amazing how I could recite almost all the words after probably at least 15 years since I last played it.
Quoting CdrRogdan, reply 2 You should really break those up into professions and talents. As the profession can only be selected once and as such is allowed to be stronger than talents that can be taken up to 6 times. That said.. any of your tweaks are either already in the game (acrobat +1 dex/level) or just seem to be adjusted for the sake of adjustment. Merchant for example is fine the way it is. I agree with Assassin and Adventurer
You can thank yourselves guys. You avenged yourselves here. The fundamentals are there so keep going and polishing and refrain from making drastic redesign decisions. The four focuspoints that were pointed out in one of the journals turned out to be an excellent basis.
You guys keep comparing FE to WoM. It's natural, but what about MoM, AoW, HoMM, etc.?
That's gonna be very difficult and personal. I'll have a shot. I never cared much for HoMM, never really got into it. MoM was truly great in it's time, but I fear nostalgia clouds judgement here as there were quite a few flaws in that game too. I loved AoW and especially the hero approach in that game and the
Have to agree here. This was a problem when the WOM beta came out and if I recall correctly it's been a problem in earlier GalCiv beta's too. This really should be a feature. Looks like a design decision, but one I can't understand. Perhaps one of the devs can clarify.

I would give you karma, but I'm afraid this would be the beginning of the end for this website once the new SOPA law goes in effect.
Everything is cohesive - the music, the icons, the art style, the small UI flourishes; Fallen Enchantress has a unique and interesting heart that has - even at this stage - endeared itself. It can only get better from here.
Very well put, totally agree with you there. The game's got a heart and soul. Bugfixing, balancing and improving the AI can all be done during betaphase, but you can never add a heart an
Are these your new suggestions? And if so could you please add what the trait was and after that your suggestion. Makes the discussion easier.
I have an internet connection that is somewhat bandwidth limited. I can download the beta but given my bandwidth is on a monthly deal I can't keep downloading 2 gigs. Plus my flatmate would somewhat kill me if I did since we share the connection. So my question is this - how often will the game be updated? Also will the updates require a complete reinstall or will they be a few hundred megs patches? I can probably
Is there still a prestige penalty if you have too many cities? If not then it seems that this would lend it's way to a simple "whoever has the most cities wins" every game.
Prestige penalty it still there. I quote Frogboy: "It is better to have a few mega cities than a bunch of crappy ones (each time you found a city, your faction prestige is spread further out which slows growth in all cities). It also lets you claim l
In one of the journals Derek said that units auto-upgrade. So no need anymore to micromanage that, thank goodness! Derek: "Each faction has ten pre-designed unit types. These units automatically upgrade as new weapons become available. There is, for example, one archer unit. But that archer unit will use the best bow the player has. Units that are already created can upgrade their weapons armor, though it isn't cheap."
It takes the stuff from the surrounding 8 tiles and pools it into the center tile display. So when you hover over settle, you see all the options where you can settle, and you also see what you will get from settling on those particular tiles. You don't need to do any maths in your head. If a tile says 4 grain 5 materials, you'll get 4 grain 5 materials in your city. And those are TECHNICALLY gathered from that tile and the 8 around it.<
In all Stardock TBS games they use percentages for upgrades. Though it requires some math, the text is very clear on this and especially in FE, you can visualize how the math is done on a lot of subjects by mousing over.
In other news the trait system is awesome, it really makes champions and created units feel unique, that plus enchanted and unique gear *drool**thumbs up*
This is definitely one of the best features of FE imho. Adds so much personality to the game. I just found myself some level 5 magical gauntlets and can't wait to use them (but my hero still needs two more levels)! For that reason alone the game is 100x better than WOM.
Nice feedback, I agree with all except 1. On 3, I wouldn't mind if a huge (and I mean huuuuuge) spider destroyed my city, but I do agree that the bigger the city the harder it should be for lowlife monsters to destroy it. A simple spider should be able to destroy an outpost but now a city. A dragon should definitely be able to destroy huge cities though. Perhaps they can link monster levels to city levels? I had a great time doing my first 50 turns last night. Finally there's
It's a beta remember?
Had to get used to this too, being so familiar with Civ where basically every tile yields something.
Ah, ok! Also if you move the file to another drive before extracting? Anyways, did about 50 turns and thusfar I'm really impressed. Finally Elemental oozes atmosphere. So much to do and to discover. Everything looks so much more polished than WOM and this is just a beta! No crashes yet. Love the way your heroes level up now. Much more personality there. Love the new techtree and all the explanations when you mouseover something. But above all I see some frig
