I've gotten a lot of questions from people over the past couple of years about why we are giving away Fallen Enchantress to the early adopters of War of Magic. They say people won't remember War of Magic (it was 2 years ago). They say it won't "buy" good will back from those who didn't like WOM.
I pre-ordered War of Magic. I didn't like the game at release. I DO remember War of Magic. I appreciate that I was given Fallen E

Jame Moriarty: I was in a similar boat. I played WoM 1.0 at release and was disappointed. I had high hopes for WoM, but I didn't play it all after the week. I recently downloaded beta 3 of Fallen Enchantress, and I was quite pleased. Beta 3 definitely had a few issues (many of which are corrected in Beta 4, hopefully the rest will be fixed by release), but it was a lot more fun than WoM 1.0. I would encourage you to download Beta 4 of Fallen Enchantress

I pre-ordered War of Magic back in 2009. When the game was released in 2010, I played the release version (1.0?) for a bit. The game was kind of fun, but ultimately disappointing. I went off to play other games for a while and now I'm interested in returning to the world of Elemental. My question is whether the game is significantly improved with the 1.4 patch (as compared to the release version)? That is, is it worth spending some time on the current version of War of Ma

I'm confused as to how Pre-Orders with Impulse are working. I pre-ordered Elemental a long time ago (November 2008). At some point in 2009 (I don't recall when) Elemental started showing up on my list of Impulse games, but I didn't try to download it because it hadn't been released yet. Now that release is nearing, I find that the game no longer shows up on my list of Impulse games. Did something go wrong? I'm not used to games disappearing from my Impulse list. - Matt

Personally, I'd be absolutely shocked if they released a new version this week ... Shocked in a good way ... a very very good way ... but shocked nonetheless :->

I think the prices are reasonably close to the right place (perhaps a 10-15% reduction in price is needed, but surely no more than that). In particular, I think the design of an RTS should force players to make interesting strategic decisions. If players have plenty of money to both buy all citidel upgrades and deck their demigods out in the best possible gear, then the game becomes less interesting. Therefore, I support prices that make players think about whether it's worth fighting

I played a number of 2v2 games over the weekend with a friend of mine and two AI players. In every game where a human player was playing as a General Demigod, the game Desync'ed (not immediately, but long before the game was over). In every game where both human players were playing Assassin Demigods, everything worked fine and we were able to complete the game with no Desync problems. [Note: 2 Human Assassins and 2 AI Generals worked fine, but 1 Human Assassin, 1 Human General and 2

I for one really appreciate the willingness of Stardock and GPG to put beta builds into the hands of customers to get feedback early. The current beta 2 build only works occassionally on my machine, but that's fine. It's beta. And the fact that it's worked more often on other people's machines means that they've gotten more customer feedback than they would have if they hadn't released a build before the holidays. If others don't like the crashes or the lack of polish that acc

On Friday, I had no trouble starting Internet games against the AI. (Connecting to other people's games was problematic, but there's other threads about that). Then, starting on Saturday, I haven't been able to start a game against the AI. I set up the game, click "ready", click "launch game" and then I get the standard Light vs Dark screen with the Tip at the bottom. At this point nothing happens (It stays on this screen for ever ... I've let it run for hours just to see) ... the Tip doesn't

I don't have any inside information, but based on Frogboy's post (http://forums.demigodthegame.com/333433) yesterday, I believe the last couple updates are just minor back-end changes attempting to improve the performance and stability of network games.

I've also had trouble connecting to hosted games. I stare at the "Trying to Connect" screen for a while and then at some point I give up and click "Abort Connect". Sometimes I'm able to get into games, but more often then not I get stuck "Trying to Connect" and have to "Abort Connect". It's not clear whether the problem is my side, or if the problem is with the machine attempting to host the game. Therefore, I think it would be helpful if anyone had some tips/trick

True, but giving too much weight on a single position of the map (the 3x experience flag) it renders map control in the traditional sense pretty useless, its more like king of the hill/flag then. I do agree that flags in general need to a bit stronger though.
Agreed. I'd like map control to be more important, but I'm not sure that putting a single uber-important flag on the map is the way to do it. [qu

It seems that standing around in demigod generates some gold over time even when I'm just standing back buying items at the store. Does anyone know what determines how fast I get gold? Obviously, killing opposing demigods gives me a big gold boost, but what about killing grunts, do they give me gold? If killing grunts does give me gold do I need to get the last hit, or just be nearby? Do my teammates across the map share the gold when I kill grunts? If kill

I played around with Beta 2 last night and I had a blast. However, it wasn't clear to me what most of the flags did (I mean, I figured out the portal flags on the Leviathon map, but "Valor Flags", "Celerity Flags", "Dehibilitating Flags" were quite perplexing). So, is there a list somewhere of all the flags and what they do? Also, is there a bonus (e.g. gold or experience) for capturing or holding an arbitrary flag? (E.g. When I grab the portal flag on the Leviathon map, do I

Don't worry ... if you read Frogboy's post today on Beta 2 ( http://forums.demigodthegame.com/333433 ) you'll see that this first build of Beta 2 won't be fun either because they didn't have time to get any of the balancing worked out. I don't think you need to be concerned about head explosions until they've had a few more weeks to get the balance numbers right

FYI: I'm new to the beta. I pre-ordered in early October (with credit card). I use gmail, and my beta activation code (timestamp 3:05 EST) was mistakenly placed in my spam folder. Just a heads up to others who have pre-ordered that you might want to check your spam folder.

If you pre-ordered in November, you should get access to beta at some point today, but not until they've charged your pre-order. They've said that they won't start charging pre-orders until after the beta is available. It's quite likely that Beta 2 will be available by 2:00pm EST. The process of charging pre-orders will take a number of hours (there have been lots of pre-orders) ... The pre-ordered are grouped by payment category (tokens then credit card then paypal) and

The beta will probably be released today by 2:00pm EST, which is 7:00pm GMT. When the beta is released they will start charging pre-orders which will take a few hours (depending on when you pre-ordered and the method of payment you used). Once your pre-order is charged they will send you a code. I don't know exactly how long it will take them to charge your pre-order, but if I were you, I'd expect to get a code sometime late evening GMT ... and possibly as late as

Personally, I'm hoping that generals will not have direct control over units. I think the unique appeal of this game is the focus on the demi-god avatar, and if players start spending large amounts of time/concentration micro-managing units other than the demi-god that the game suffers. There are a large number of quality games on the market where players win battles by effectively micro-managing an army of 'creeps' (e.g. SC, War3, DoW). If Demigod is going to differentiate itself fro
I'm sorry but that statement is just a pile o' shit. How many betas have you participated in? Hell, How many games have you bought on release date recently? Seriously, This game is more playable in its current form than any other game I've played in the last 2 years.
Quoted for Truth. This game is more solid in Beta 4 than any game that I've played at release in a very long time. (Okay, that's not fair. I also played GalCiv at release and that

Yup, that works! Also, thanks for the posting these replays. As someone still capable of losing the AI, it's really helpful to see how competent players approach a game of Sins.

Really sorry for the newbie question, but here it goes: "I downloaded a replay, how do I watch it?" (I assume I have to put the replay file in the right directory, but I have no idea where) Thanks a lot
