Ive only had 1 CTD, it was on a wonder movie. I do find the game is getting pretty slow later in the game. But I am still just really impressed how good the game is, beyond my expectations. The AI seems quite compenent too. ANd the modding is starting to roll in and they havent even scratched the surface of it. The SDK should be really interesting.

We all know why theres a delay.... Too much civ 4 playing
civ 4 works for me.... I like it alot. Plays very nice, the new religion aspect is nice, they display info in a very good way, and they display alot of it Its so good itll take away from Beta 4 time for me
Whats that shipyard?
Are there just regular weapons or will we see things like pulsars, graviton beams like a certain other game had Those are what I mean by 'specials', things other then a standard type weapon.
One thing that made the MOO2 auto battles nice to watch, was all of the different specials that a ship might have. Are there specials for GC ships?
Might be neat to get some older 4x type games....
I'll go different from everyone, the best 4x game I ever played was a PBEM game called Dominion. It was run by a GM usin g alot of spreadsheets (and some automation), so much fun because of the system and the added Role Play aspects. If I wanted MOO2 again, I'd go play it.
cool, looking forward to seeing how this combat works. I hope there are a wide variety of weapons to see
I like the colonize system, where you could flag a planet and it will take care of sending a ship. If there were no ships available, it would send the next one built automatically.
MOO2 multiplayer wasn't all that great. Games taook an enourmous amount of time. The only multiplayer I would ever want is pbem (play by email), can play without needing large amounts of time.
Nice to see some fleet combat screens... its hard to tell, but are only 2 ships shown at one time?
So that is why the GC flyer was in the moo3 box.... very interesting article. Thanks!
Great to hear about starbases stopping ships from passing for a few tiles... I like Zoomba's ideas, especially the need to keep the AI out of my space. Colonizing a planet in my border (or even under my influence) should be discouraged somehow. I hate when my opponents start colozing behind my lines, just like I hated it in Civ. So please, some concept of borders As for tactical combat, Im with Frogboy, I always hit auto.
MOO2 multiplayer was less than ideal. I still play it on single player, so the replayability is still there for me
some ebgames still sell moo2
There is definatly balencing to be done. My flagship one game was invincible, and I didn't even have much technology.
Who wants those ships anyways? You can make your own now
Will fleet battles be in beta 3? Sadly was looking forward to the space debris...
Good ol Drexel, I went there
Soooooo, every ship will be shown on the screen?
True... you did not say much Any idea how big fleet battles can get?
So will weapons and such look different from each other? It sounds like the ships won't be moving....
The fleet info is interesting... What do you mean by watching fleets battling it out? MOO2 on Auto? Are we talking hands off tactical combat? Or will it just be some ships on each side, fire at something in turn.... kinda like the old fashoned war games... (or new like superpower 2 or grisby's world at war) . Thanks for the info
