Could you make borders function like they do in civ 4 where you can keep your borders closed so that everyone doesn't zoom through and colonize your territory. Please? I am getting sooo sick of seing alien ships scoop up planets in the middle of my empire. Also how about a starbase manager. A future construction tab can be added to the starbase window. It can show all the modules currently available at your current level of technology. You can then select what you want and w

I think it would be cool if ala civ 3 wonders or bonuses pop up due to the presence of a certain number of starbases or facilities built. On a similar note it would be cool if you get a bonus (like a free tech or trade good) for discovering a certain number or percent of the anomolies in the galaxy. The popup could read something like "The database you've created on the vast number of oddities you've encountered has lead to a new fundamental understanding of the galaxy, downloads of this lucrati
I kind of agreee. I mean sometimes I will have war declared on me by someone extremely far away. They (the ai) don't ever seem to colonize planets for strategic value (i.e a low pq planet) and worst of all they never seem to catch on to a little trick: say I really want that fabulous desperately needed economic resource 2 sectors away from my space, but the drengin have already scooped it up. Lucky for me they are at war with the alterians so all I have to do is put a constructor near it AND a b
I made this suggestion in another post but I'm putting it here in the hopes it gets more attention. I'm also putting in a couple other suggestions. I would like to see starbases upgrade themselves. It would be cool if when you build a starbase a little menu pops up with all the modules available to you (regardless of necessary build order), that you could check which ones you want built and then have constructors automatically move to them once they become available. It would work similarly
I'm not so sure about rally points, I mean its not like I've forgotten where my bases are. I like the idea about prioritizing bases, and the whole notion of bases building themselves (like Dave Richardson said) is interesting. But if the starbases built themselves up then, instead of constructors the game would probably need to compensate by making starbase building an expense, like military/domestic/research funding or at the very lease an expense like espionage or maintenence. One last suggest

I prefer corner starting locations as well. I like this game because it is a strategy game that doesn't require war to win. I've never been crazy about war strategy games (although I LOVE shooters?) and I can't stand when a game that is otherwise a builder-type game suddenly tries to be a RTS war game (Pharaoh I'm looking at you.) The corners are good becuase you get the most profitable trade routes, can be left alone to culture up your race and you don't have to worry about invasion for a
Sorry I didn't make the link clearer (thanx Turtlewacks for doing so). I did "ctrl+n" to that map, so it could be the bug Bralex is talking about. Or like Vorlin Varelse said (and as I still believe), that it is a bug that gives the aliens first colony ship unlimited range. Whatever the case does anyone know if a future patch is on the way? Since my favorite type of map is one with a small/medium cluster of stars with a good distance put between me and everyone else. And this bug is obviously me
Ever since I patched it seems as if the alien colony ships have unlimited range, is this intentional or is it just me? It is really ticking me off that I start off in a corner away from everyone else only to find a torian ship already upon a level 20 planet several sectors away from there closest colony. Unless very early into the game they already have a couple of starbases it must be a bug, or something I haven't thought of. Please help/explain. Here is a link to a picture to prove my point. h
