So, uh, naselus they're going to listen to us now?
Sure! Glad to. I enjoy breaking things.
Very simple: Yor is overpowered right now, right? They also build up their worlds a lot. And the AI doesn't defend their planets in the early game. If you can hit them before turn 50 on a huge map, they're pretty much defenseless. So... get Malevolence lvl 3: 5 free transports ASAP (after the 3 constructor into colony ship trick). The AI won't react if you put TRANSPORT ships next to their planets. Then Bop the Yor an
Turn 16, Marigoldran's empire is overrun and assimilated into the borg. Yor thanks you for giving them target practice and told stardock devs that humans is too easy, they need to be buffed for them to have more fun assimilating humans.
I wish. Then the AI would be a challenge. As of right now, I've got this really awesome strategy called the "Yor Bop," for smaller than gigantic map sizes.
Frogboy programmed the Yor better than the organic races. Or maybe machines are just better. I personally think it's the production bonuses AI gets. The Yor can convert them directly into pop. On suicidal, with Yor on the map one possible idea is to colonize quickly and get Malevolence level III and invade their worlds early and nerf them down. The AI doesn't build anything to defend their worlds in the early game.
Ah, I see!
That's one heck of a good idea. For that matter, it would also test overpowered fleet combinations, such as for example, carriers....
It would be MUCH easier if we could, you know, make the AI ACTUALLY intelligent. Unfortunately the best we can do today is to make it PRETEND to be intelligent. Big difference there, as any AI programmer would know. (How do I get this stupid dumb program to FUNCTION as if it was smart?)
Isn't it the very definition of strategy to, you know, EXPLOIT things?
By the standards of today, your AI is good. By the standards of the future, your AI is absolutely awful. It's sort of like asking: "were the people of 1000 years ago smart?" How are you supposed to answer that? If they were smart, why did they think the sun went around the earth? Answer me THAT. Just do your best and we'll reward you with our money. [e digicons]:D[/e]
You meant to say, "Beating Godlike WHILE ABUSING EXPLOITS is WITHOUT MUCH VALUE." Turn off tech trading next time.
But it counts equally in the metaverse. Right??? Besides, it gets into a different issue: WHAT'S THE DEFINITION OF AN EXPLOIT? I could argue that designing new ships is an exploit too.
I like this game more. The economic system makes a lot more sense. But it needs to grow. Too early in the development cycle to judge yet. And there are, uh, issues that need to be fixed. Major issues. MAJOR!!!!! ISSUES!!!!! [e digicons]>:([/e] [e digicons]>:([/e] [e digicons]>:([/e] [e digicons]>:([/e] [e digicons]>:([/e] [e digicons]X([/e] Among other things: The Yor should NOT want snuggler colonies. They're SYNTHETIC races
Actually, this is stupid. Loading an earlier game. BUT HAVE I MADE MY POINT ABOUT THE DIPLOMACY SCREEN EXPLOITS? This one is only the most obnoxious. Of course it's so obnoxious that even I find it obnoxious. However, the point is that BEATING GODLIKE AI right now is an accomplishment WITHOUT MUCH VALUE.
Good for you.
Thank you. I too can be god-like.
Fortunately the devs are aware and surely have plans to correct this.
I certainly hope so.
Met the Yor. Traded 20000 credits/turn for 4 colony ships and all their techs. Then declared war on them. Turn 15 . Godlike is freaking EASY. Don't know why people brag about it so much. (messed up font size). Now I'm going to DO THE SAME to all of
If you want, I have screenshots. GODLIKE IS REALLY EASY.

Clearly a nerve was touched here. [e digicons]:D[/e] [e digicons]:D[/e] [e digicons]:D[/e] [e digicons]:D[/e] [e digicons]:D[/e] But nothing I said was inaccurate: 1. The beta testers did a good job in fixing the "my game doesn't work" issues. 2. They did a poor job fixing the "game mechanics and exploitation" issues. 3. The diplomacy screen is extremely exploitative. Then again, I agree: it's probably
I don't think it's ok to talk bad about snuggler colonies. They are the cutest pets in the galaxy.
BUT THE YOR SHOULDN'T LIKE THEM. THAT'S WRONG!!!!!
You don't wipe out the shipyards in the early game. You focus on wiping out the PLANETS NEXT TO THE SHIPYARDS. Same difference. And hey, it's a free world. As long as I come up with good/interesting ideas, it's all good. Clearly you need to take a deep breath. [e digicons]:D[/e] [e digicons]:D[/e] Chill, man. Chill. It's just a game.
