Yeah. The AI should spam colony ships for the first 20-30 turns. Then it should prioritize pop growth techs afterwards, and then on half of the worlds spam marketplaces (the other half researching the pop growth techs). This is the best strategy. It's what I do. For suicidal, consider giving the AI a TON of bonus money at the beginning, like 15,000. And make the AI value its money more, diplomacy-wise. This is probably the best wa

How do you adjust AI strategies? That way I can do it on my own. The reason is because on suicidal difficulty, the AI SHOULD just spam colony ships. Their bonuses are so large that they can easily tech their way out of their hole. The more colonies the AI has, the more it can take advantage of its innate bonuses on suicidal. Also, regardless of the difficulty, the AI should expand to 50 colonies ASAP. Diminishing economic returns only happens

Ok. Um, grabbing colonies is still a good thing in the early game. The AI should still be encouraged to expand fast. In the previous game with your earlier patch some of the AI was on 120+ colonies by turn 40+. Of course if they're expanding slowly this means I don't have to expand as fast either.... Editing the AI and giving all of them "fast."

[quote who="Tohron" reply="1" id="3571948"] For me, the main negative point is the linear progression of all the tech lines. If you want more manufacturing, there is a single line of techs that will give you better factories, and no other line of techs will help you. The same goes for research, wealth, tourism, etc. Thus, pursuing a given goal requires no strategic choice or evaluation of trade-offs - there is only one option (ideally, the tech specializations would giv
